1. Run, jog, hike, or walk 50 kilometers in a single effort within 24 hours. A "single effort" means no extended breaks between multiple efforts that aggregate to 50 km for the day.
2.Your V50k must NOT be an organized race or event that you are participating in. For example, I cannot count my Psycho Wyco 50k in February as my MURCA V50k. The only exception to this is a local "fat ass" style 50k in which two or more MURCAns attend together as a group run.
3. You can carry, pre-stash, or have friends/family provide aid to you during the 50k.
4. Once complete, upload your race data to UltraSignup, using the link provided. If you get injured or cannot complete the V50k in the race window, please contact Mike via the MURCA FB group or via email; the V50K's can be completed outside of the time window in extenuating circumstances.
The Warrior's Keep
The Warrior's Keep is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization founded and operated by military veterans whose mission is to unite, empower, and enhance the quality of life for veterans with the use of outdoor adventure and recreational therapies. The funds raised from the MURCA V50K will help fund The Warrior's Keep's 2021 Adventure Race. TWK is stoked to continue the partnership with MURCA! As always, their focus is providing Outdoor Adventure Therapy for veterans, and in 2021 they are planning to expand those opportunities.
The team for 2021 will consist of Mark (TWK Ops Chief), Jake (TWK Climbing Director), Melissa (TWK coordinator), and John (TWK Co-founder). The race is called Expedition Oregon 2021: America's Toughest Race and is May 12-16. It is the only World Series Qualifier race in North America! This year, there is a full field of incredible athletes coming that will make this the highest caliber and most challenging and competitive expedition Adventure Racing event in North America. Only 24 teams were accepted into this race from all over North America and we are one of them!! In order to qualify for the WS, each team must be composed of 4 individuals, with at least one female. Skills needed to compete in this race include: snowshoeing/mountaineering, mountain biking. packrafting, paddle boarding, multi-pitch climbing, swimming, land navigation and more! This race is over 300 miles, with no trails...only checkpoints that must be completed in a certain time. We will not know what to expect in the race, until race day. (last year, they had racers repel 150 ft with their bike strapped to their back!!

Our overall mission for entering this race is to expand our disciplines for outdoor adventure and create a program that excites and gets veterans involved in outdoor competition and teamwork. Throughout our training, we will be including veteran participants that are interested in learning about the sport to join us. Our ultimate goal is to raise $50K towards the Adventure Racing Program, so that we can start training and sponsoring veterans to compete in AR competitions all over the world!
