Retreat Repeat

1043 Fort View Road

Shulerville, SC 8hrs

Registration closes: Fri, Jan 1 @ 11:59PM

UPDATES:

We will still be racing on January 2nd, 2021!
The race is hosted on private property and the only reason to cancel would be a mandate prohibiting gatherings from the local government.

Steps that we are taking to ensure the safest event possible:
1: Lots of hand sanitizer
2: Encourage social distancing. More of the field area will be mowed to allow a larger space for individuals to set up their own space.
3: The aid station will be one way only and be stocked with individually wrapped items. One time use cups will be used (instead of how we used the "cup board" to store reusable cups. Prepared food will be handed out by a gloved volunteer.
4: We will not start the race shoved into a tight little corral. It will be a spread out gaggle start. If you are not needing or desiring to run the full 8 hours you can start at anytime after 8am. This spreads out runners even more. The only hard time is the 4pm finish.
5: It's a trail race, outside, with lots of space. Respect other people and provide space around each other.

Come Run at The Coleman Retreat!

We get to do it again! Welcome to the 3rd annual RETREAT REPEAT!
Start the New Year off right at the Retreat Repeat 8 hour run! Come out to the Coleman Retreat in the middle of the Francis Marion National Forest and put some miles in on an approximately 1.8 mile looped course. The course will circle the property and consist of open fields and hardwoods. Run as many or as few miles/laps as you want to in 8 hours.
This event has been created by Runners for Runners! Our goal is to have fun and provide a space for an Runner family reunion of sorts. If you are a new runner, this is still an awesome event for you! The ultra/trail running community is one of the best. Come join our tribe! This is a great opportunity to put in a final long run before some of the local 24 hr or 100 mile events coming up or a great chance to set a distance PR if you have not dabbled a lot in long distance/timed running. Run fast or run slow, just don’t miss out on the party at the Retreat.

Cost

It’s stupid cheap. $30. We are charging only to cover the necessities and some swag! This covers a gender specific shirt, surprise swag, Porta Johns, race insurance, burger after party, use of the property, and a timing company. I am a runner and this is a labor of love. NOTHING goes into my pocket, seriously. This is about the awesome trail and ultra community and having a chance to run and hang out together.

Young Runners

Runners age 13 and under run for free with a registered parent! If you would like a shirt for your young runner please check the Kid Registration box.

Timing

This event will be chip timed. Only full laps will count and all laps must be complete before the clock hits 8 hours. Grounded Running Beaufort is once again our timing professionals!

Food

This was awesome last 2 years! Every runner must bring an item to place on the aid station table. The request this year is for individually wrapped items to ensure our health and safety. Examples: Wrapped cookies, mini bags of chips, mini cans of soda, mini candy bars. Best aid station I've ever seen. If you want pickles, bring pickles. Pringles, bring Pringles to share. ETC. Bring something that makes you and others happy!
I will provide water, electrolyte drink, bacon and grilled cheese, burgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs. I feel it is safe to still provide cooked burgers and hot dogs. The food goes from the grill (gloved cooked) to the plate that you are holding.

CAMPING!

There is now camping allowed on the property Friday night starting at 5pm. Put up your tent and enjoy some time by the fire before racing the next day. Small campers can be accommodated but will not have any hook ups. Saturday night camping is also available.

After Party

At the conclusion of the race there will be burgers and a bonfire. Food will be available for everyone at the after party. If more than just the runner intends to eat please let me know how many (in addition to the runner) will eat.

Thank You!

A huge thank you to The Foot Store of Mount Pleasant, Santee Hardware, Run4P (MooreOn Running), Joey Bag A Donuts, and Eagle Endurance for partnering with me to make this event happen!

Sorry, no refunds or deferrals
