$6000 & $1000 Course Record Money ; or maybe a COLOR shirt
$6,000 is waiting on the person who establishes the new course record for the Strolling Jim 40.
NEW for 2020 is the addition of $1000 prize money for a woman setting the Women's Course Record
Just like when we started the Course Record prize money, we start at $1000, and increase it by $1000 any year the record is not broken.
One of the unique features of the Strolling Jim is the awarding of the "colored" shirt based on excellent finishing times. These shirts are given at the finish and prominently display your achievement in large letters on the back. i.e. Red Strolling Jim Shirt with SUB 7 on the back would be those runners finishing the 40 mile run between 6:00:00 and 6:59:00
For the second year now we award these shirts for special Marathon and 10k times.
The following is the breakdown:
40 mile run
SUB 5 - Gold
SUB 6 - Blue
SUB 7 - Red
SUB 3 - Gold
SUB 3:30 - Blue
SUB1:20 - Gold
SUB 1:30 - Blue
SUB 40 - Gold
Train hard. You want one of these.
May 2, 2020
Register now for May 2, 2020. The 41st running of Strolling Jim.
In 2019, Zach Beavin, of Lexington, KY chased one of the most revered records in all of ultra running. Zach established a couple of new course record splits on his way to the second fastest Jim ever!! His 4:07:42 leaves him wanting more. Andy Jones has the record at 3:59:26.
The pot will sweeten as another $1000 will be added to the purse, so $6000 will be awarded to the person who establishes the new course record for the 41.2 mile course. A $1000 pot will be started for a Woman breaking the Women's course record of 4:44:45 set in 2011 by Leah Thorlvison.
The Half Marathon course, will be a USATF certified 13.1 mile. It has to be one of the most scenic half marathons anywhere.
The Marathon and 10k course will be USATF certified distances as well, so if you don't think you can run the 40mile, choose the Marathon, Half Marathon, or 10K. Bring a friend with you. A distance for everyone.
You don't want to miss it!!!

Welcome to Wartrace
For 4 decades now, the first Saturday in May has meant one thing in the scenic hills of Bedford County, Tennessee; the return of the Foot Warriors.
And the Ultra-Marathoners have kept coming back to stroll the quiet streets of Wartrace and Bell Buckle, enjoying the picturesque homes and quaint shops.
They come back to share in the reunion of the Ultra community.
Back to celebrate the end of Winter with a run in the inspiring springtime beauty of the Highland Rim.
Back to be a part of one of the most competitive Road Ultras in the US, and to match their times against the fastest runners of the past 41 years.
Back to strive for a coveted Gold Shirt... or Blue Shirt... or Red Shirt.
Back to feast on the bountiful repast at both pre- and post-run festivities.
But, most of all, the Ultra-Marathoners keep coming back because, at the Strolling Jim™, every runner is a hero, an honored guest, and a welcomed friend.
Join us this May for the 42nd running of the race, and you will find your own reasons to keep coming back.

Donate to Cascade HS athletics
Laz has been a coach in the school systems for over 30 years. Here's an opportunity to donate a little to help the school he loves. Tighter budgets make it tougher all the time. A significant portion of your Strolling Jim entry fee goes towards helping these worthy programs. If you can afford to give a little more, it will be put to good use. You can do so during the registration process. Thanks so much.
