The Grasslands Trail Run is held in the Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands, more than 20,000 acres managed by the U.S. Forest Service and situated north of Fort Worth. The trails loop among rolling hills and through a mixture of pine and oak grove forests, open fields, and livestock.
The race uses a series of trails that start and finish at TADRA Point Trailhead. The half marathon uses the blue trail; the marathon uses the white and blue trails; and 50-mile runners follow the blue, white, yellow and red trails and finish with a short out and back correction loop. The course map shows all loops with aid stations marked.
