This is a solo run on a 50K loop course through the red rocks of Sedona. This is a run in the Fat Ass tradition: no fee, no course markings, some aid. The course will NOT be marked, but participants will be sent maps and a turn sheet. The trails are generally well signed at each intersection.
Runners will self-time their run (see Results section, below). As you will be running solo, you may start running whenever you want.
This run is limited to 50 runners. There is no fee for this run.
The course is one large loop, starting and finishing at Fay Canyon Trailhead. The trails are moderately hilly and occasionally rocky. About 3700 feet of climbing. There is virtually no shade, so be prepared if the weather is warm.
There will four water drops (at about miles 9.5, 16.0, 21.7 and 27.2), the one at mile 16 will have a bit of aid (PBJs, chips, cookies, GU). Other than that you should carry all your calories with you. Due to the distance between water, it is recommended that you run with a Camelbak. This is a run in the Fat Ass tradition - YOU are responsible for your own well-being.
Results (such as they are) will be by GPS file. Participants should send a link to or screenshot of their Strava upload to be included in the results.
