2026 UPDATES:

August 4, 2026Event Cancelled. Today's expanded evacuation orders related to the Grasshopper Fire now include the Wy'east Trailfest event’s Mt. Hood Meadows staging area. Due to the evacuation order, combined with ongoing, unsafe AQI levels, we are forced to cancel Wy’east Trailfest for this year. All participants, volunteers and event partners are being emailed more information throughout today, related to the event cancellation.

August 3, 2026 — Due to ongoing impacts related to the Grasshopper Fire located on the east side of the Mt. Hood National Forest, our event leadership team is working with the US Forest Service and Mt. Hood Meadows as we continue to plan and be ready to host the Wy’east Trailfest event. At this time, we intend to host the event as scheduled, and email communications will be sent to participants on Tuesday, Aug. 4th. What is known however, is the 50 miler and 50K races will be rerouted entirely onto Mt. Hood Meadows permit area as multi-loop courses and will not be the originally planned point-to-point routes. All other race routes are not currently impacted.

Again, updates and communications will be posted on the event website and emailed to participants and volunteers.

Uncertainty with fire season is always challenging, particularly this year. We continue to plan for the best, while monitoring and being ready to respond quickly and clearly to changing conditions.
