The Mt. Cheaha 50K UltraMarathon Race is a point-to-point trail run that finishes in the Cheaha State Park at the summit of Cheaha Mountain. At 2,407 feet this is the highest point in Alabama. Along the run you will experience scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, water falls, hardwood and pine forests. 80% of the course is run on beautiful single track trails winding throughout the Talladega National Forest.

Packet Pickup:
Friday - Feb 21st - 3:00 - 7:00 pm CST, Coldwater Mountain Brewpub (downtown Anniston, AL - 1208 Walnut Ave) They have amazing food and would be a great option for your pre race meal!!!
Race Morning - 6:30 am - 7:15 am CST, Porters Gap Trailhead (Race Start)
Crew Passes for Cheaha State Park - must be paid in advance. Bring cash. You will receive a pass to give to the gate attendee. The gate attendee will switch our pass for a State Park Day Pass as you enter the park. This prevents the attendee from having to go get change for each vehicle. Cheaha State Park will receive all monies from the passes.
$5 per Adult (age 12+)
$2 per Child (age 4 to 11)
$2 per Senior (age 62+)
Free for ages 3 & under
All Active Military, Retired Military, and Veterans are Free
Bus Transportation:
Bus tickets may be purchased at the time of registration or at a later time in the store on ultrasignup for $15.
Buses will depart from Cheaha State Park overflow parking area at 6:05 am CST SHARP!
Parking Attendants will be present to help park vehicles race morning. Please follow signs & their direction.
Parking at the Start (Porters Gap):
Parking is very limited at the race start. For those of you who are having someone bring you to the race start you may have to park on the side of the highway near the Porters Gap Trailhead. You must remove your car as soon as the race begins at 7:30 a.m. (CST). Due to the small area at the Porters Gap Trailhead, we will be utilizing most of this area for pre-race activities.
Restrooms:
At the race Start there will be available for your convenience three porta potties to relieve those last minute butterflies!!!
Race Day Weather Conditions:
Expect any type of weather. Weather has spanned from the mid 70’s, rainy, misty, freezing or snowing in the late afternoon. Be prepared for any race conditions. The race has never been canceled due to weather conditions.

Aid 6 Cheaha Lake - 28.5 miles

There will be no refunds, no race day registration, and no race entry transfers to another runner and no deferrals.
The following are not allowed on course… any stroller, animals, bicycles, or unentered runners. Please keep all pets at least 50 feet from aid stations, start/finish line areas.
Hotels are available in Talladega and Oxford, AL.
Camping is available at Cheaha State Park.
