North Rim Ramble
This one of a kind half-marathon and marathon course features a 13.1-mile loop along well-graded forest roads and some of the Arizona Trail’s most pleasant singletrack on the Kaibab Plateau. The loop course crosses through an enchanting area of Northern Arizona, through idyllic forest of spruce, pine, and aspen, and in and out of limestone canyons. For almost a mile, the course follows the East Rim of the Grand Canyon, offering breathtaking views of Marble Canyon to the east, Vermilion Cliffs to the north, Saddle Mountain Wilderness, House Rock Valley, and Navajo Mountain on the Navajo Nation. Marathon runners get to experience the course twice for a second loop to complete 26.2 miles!
The 10K (more like 7 miles) follows forest roads on a scenic out-and-back route along the floor of Tater Canyon.
This event is "cupless" to minimize waste, so runners are encouraged to bring their own bottle, cup or hydration pack to fill up on Tailwind or water at aid stations. You can also purchase a collapsible HydraPak SpeedCup for only $3, which feature the Arizona Trail Association logo and can be used at all of your upcoming running events. We are proud to bring the North Rim Ramble back after Covid and wildfire cancellation in 2020 and 2021, and are honored to be able to host this event on the ancestral lands of the Nuwuvi (Southern Paiute), Hopi, Zuni and Diné (Navajo).
