Returning to Springfield MO
In 2021 we had to move the race due to road construction but in 2023 we are brining it back to Springfield MO.
We are thrilled to be back at the historic location of the Phelps Grove area.
Benefactor of this race
Run for the Ranch grants a 6-hour Endurance race, Marathon, Half Marathon, and 1-Mile race. It began in 1999 as a fundraiser for the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch and other local charities!
Race Start Times
No Early or Late Starts!
9:15 am - 1-Mile start
10:00 am - All other events start
All events arrive at the Start Line 15 minutes before the start time.
Marathon Relay Info
The marathon may be run as a relay with 4 people on each team. Teams may be single or mixed-gender. Each relay member will run 2 loops of the course. The relay exchange zone will be next to the finish line.

Course Amenities
Aid Stations
There are two aid stations (one at the start/finish and another 1.5 miles out). Each aid station will be stocked with water, electrolyte drink, and gels.
Port-a-Potties
There will be port-a-potties at each aid station.
Course Rules
Age Restrictions
To run the marathon and marathon relay you must be 18 or over on or before race day. To run the half marathon you must be 13 on or before race day
Inclement Weather
We hold our race in rain, snow, sleet, hail, and sunshine. We will delay due to lightning in the area, but we have rarely canceled a race due to weather.
Time Limit
Course closes at 4:00 pm
No Dogs are allowed on the course.
Pacers are not allowed.
Awards
All Marathon, Relay, Half-Marathon, 5K & 6-Hour finishers receive a Run for the Ranch participant medal.
There are no participant medals for the 1-Mile race.
First overall male and female, as well as Masters (40+) and Grand Master (55+), in each event, receive a Run for the Ranch award. The top three males and females as well as the top male and female Masters & Grand Masters in the 6-hour Endurance Run and 1-Mile Race receive an award.
The top 3 male and female finishers in the Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K receive age group awards in the following age groups: (<14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
*There are no award ceremonies for age group winners. When the official results are posted, winners can pick up their individual awards inside the OMRR tent. Awards will not be mailed.
**Runners are not able to win more than one award. If you win an overall award, you will not win an age group award
Swag & Post Race
Each participant, except for the 1-mile race, receives a Run for the Ranch shirt! The Shirt order is going in on 12/13, For all entries after that date please note we will have limited shirts available.
All finishers can stick around for free food and drinks.
