VERY SMALL RACE FIELD- grassroots, special event on a lightly traveled beautiful section of the iconic Ice Age Trail

The race is held in Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The majority of the course is on Midwest iconic Ice Age Trail. This is a 1,000 mile footpath contained entirely within the state of Wisconsin. This trail is highly supported by the Ice Age Trail Alliance and dedicated volunteers. The community surrounding this trail is really special. You will pass many lakes, and a thick, dark forest with rich plant life

The trail is one of the only 11 National Scenic Trails in the country. Ancient glaciers carved the path through rocky terrain, open prairies, and peaceful forests.

The National Forest has a lot of great campsites

See MidwestStates100.com for full details. We save the Spearhead campground. You can add on a campsite for the duration of the race for $15.00. It is a group campsite, that you can have one small camper van or one 2 man tent and one car.

Gorgeous National Forest with a lot fun activities in the park. Great restaurant an Mondeaux Lodge, boat rental and beautiful trails to explore

*
Runners will get back to the start/finish line at the 100k point. You can stop here and be an official 100k finisher, or head back out and go for the 100 mile finish.

Adds an extra challenge to your racing experience!

Camping

Camping- you can add on camping for $20.00. This will give you a spot on a group campsite, you can have one- 2 man tent, and one car or one small camper van. No exceptions. There are other campsites in the park for larger groups.

NO CAMPING- is available at the start/finish line. We had issues with too many people parking their car in the restaurant parking and leaving it all weekend so we lost that ability.

Group “meet up”- Thursday at Mondeaux Dam Lodge, 6 to 8 pm

Small field of runners

This is a grassroots feel race in a beautiful wilderness section of Chequamegon National Forest. During the week it is nice to get to know your fellow runners.
