Calling all volunteers! We always need fantastic volunteers and we have a volunteer program to help save you some dough. Volunteers who work a 5 hour shift will receive free entry into a future RunningLane Event 1/2 Marathon distance and shorter. Volunteers who work (2) 5 hour shifts or (1) 8+ hour shift will receive free entry into a future RL Event 50 Miler and down OR (2) races 1/2 marathon and down. Swinging Bridge 10K & Half Marathon
Please remember that all RunningLane Events trail races are "cupless races." You must have a hand held bottle, pack or or reusable cup as there won't be any paper cups at the aid stations to cut down on waste. If you don't have a reusable cup, there is the option to buy a RunningLane reusable cup at checkout for $5.
From the same directors of Eagle Ridge, Lost Falls, Grand Viduta Stage Race, Wade Mountain Wild Thangs Trail Series, River Monster Trail Run, Cathedral Caverns Trail Run, we are excited to host our first race at Tims Ford State Park! Tims Ford State Park is a magnificent 2,200+ acre park with over 15 miles of single track trails! Tims Ford State Park is one of the most beautiful state parks in the entire southeast. Beautiful lake views, several bridge crossings, a mixture silky smooth & technical single track, you're going to have a blast running along the lake shoreline.

The race is capped at 400 runners.
All runners who sign up for the Swinging Bridge Trail Run 10K & Half Marathon will receive a t-shirt, and finisher medal as well as a hot meal post race!
Packet pickup will be on Friday, August 25th at Fleet Feet Sports Huntsville from 12pm - 5pm. Fleet feet is located as 2722 Carl T Jones Dr SE B2, Huntsville, AL 35802. Packets may also be picked up the morning of the race (near the intersection of Picnic Rd & Tims Ford Dr before you get to the Recreation Center) from 6:15am - 7:45am but we encourage you to get there as early as possible!
Shirts, Awards, Weather & Cutoffs
The race shirt will be a short sleeve tri-blend shirt.
Age groups will be: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ for ALL races.
In the event of severe weather we will delay the start as necessary to avoid lightening. If severe weather threatens the entire day and does not appear to let up, we may be forced to cancel.
Average Temperatures on race day: High 83F, Low 60F
There will be very loose cutoffs in the 10K and 1/2 Marathon. Our goal is to get more and more people into this awesome sport that is trail running, no matter what your experience level is. However, we would suggest that if you are not able to maintain 18 minute miles for Half Marathon, that you please consider doing the 10K. There will be a hard cutoff of 4 hours for the Half Marathon
There are no refunds, deferrals, credits or friend / family transfers on entries. We do not mail shirts or medals to participants unable to make the event as left over shirts are donated.

Aid stations will have individual water bottles. Please drink or empty the entire bottle before throwing it away. Please do not take the water bottle or trash down the trail with you. Your mom will not be there to pick up after you and we want to be respectful to the race event staff, volunteers, park etc. We will also have a hodge podge of individually wrapped snacks (pretzels, cakes, crackers, candy etc). SOME aid stations will have gatorade.

10K: 2.6mi, 4.1mi
Half Marathon: 2.6mi, 4.1mi, 7.5mi, 11mi
The best place to stay in the area is at Tims Ford State Park. They have beautiful cabins, campground RV sites, primitive camping and more! Be sure to mention that you are traveling to the area to run the SWINGING BRIDGE TRAIL RUN!
