Cancelled Event

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

ANNOUNCEMENT

Well, this seemed like a good idea, but with a crowded race calendar in late summer and fall and few initial sign-ups, we've decided to cancel. Apologies to anyone who was looking forward to giving the Huck Finn 100 a shot. The Mark Twain Trail Summit is still on, and we hope you'll join us for a night loop, day loop, shorter out-and-back or whatever combo you choose on the Berryman Trail in September!

OVERVIEW

The target audience for the HF100 is a self-sufficient runner who is interested in a simple, well-organized, lightly supported, and laid-back 100-mile race on the all single-track 26-mile Berryman Trail loop.

Huck Finn 100 participants will run the Berryman loop in the counter-clockwise direction (opposite direction of the Berryman Trail Races). The first loop will be 22 miles. Loops 2, 3 and 4 = 26-ish miles each. Course will be well marked. Additional race details (drop bags, cut-offs, crew directions) can be found HERE.

There will be 2 full aid stations per loop (x 4 = 8) (Berryman and Brazil Creek), and one self-serve aid station (x 4) where runners can access drop bags, water and sports drink. There will be volunteer(s) camped at the self-serve station to keep an eye on drop bags. This means runners will cover 10 miles, 6 miles, and 10 miles between aid. We will supply water mid-way through the 10-mile sections.

While the Huck Finn 100 will be a simple affair, it is being held in conjunction with the Mark Twain Trail Summit, which is a gathering of regional running clubs that will include loosely organized fun runs, camping, and a Saturday picnic at the Berryman campground shelter.

We're not planning to make shirts for the race (unless people clamor for them), but finishers will receive a unique award for completing the full distance.

START: Friday, 8 AM
END: Saturday, 4 PM (32 hours).

START/FINISH and Packet Pick-up located at the Berryman campground shelter.
Packet Pick-up: Friday, 6 AM - 7:30 AM

This race is brought to you by the Saint Louis Ultrarunners Group.

CREW and PACERS

You are welcome to have friends accompany you on your run. They can hop in or out at the Berryman campground (start/finish) or Brazil Creek campground (mile 10 of each loop).

NOTICE TO RUNNERS: We are asking that runners who will have crew and/or pacers, please have them sign up for the Mark Twain Trail Summit ($10). This will give us a better head count for food at the picnic on Saturday so we have enough vittles for everyone (including your crew).

Crew and pacers should stay on the paved road and will have access to runners at Berryman campground and Brazil Creek campground (mile 10 of each loop) only. Please don't have folks drive down dirt or gravel roads trying to find you and stirring up dust.

VOLUNTEERS

People interested in volunteering, please sign up above to help us keep track of everything. No need to sign up for the MT Trail Summit if you commit to volunteering. We'll let you eat at the picnic on Saturday just for helping us out! We appreciate your help!
