NEW FOR 2025
More space for you. We got an increase in our permit approved and will be allowed 500! runners for three races across the weekend. Let’s go!
Two days of racing. We’re moving the Forest Loop race to Sunday. So you get a chance to race the Double Beast (and so we can accommodate the increased number of runners.)
Double Beast. You love the Skyrace. Why not follow it up the next day with the Forest Loop for a combined ... and ... of vert.
Trail Running Film Festival at Big Creek. We’re bringing TRFF’25 to your race weekend. Join us at one of the shelters at Big Creek campground on Saturday night.
Camping. We’ll take over the entire Big Creek campground for the weekend. Join us on Lake Cushman and party with us all weekend long.
More updates, details and information in the coming weeks.

PARTNERSHIPS
Also new for 2025: The Beast of Big Creek Skyrace will be a qualifying race in the Vert Running Series by Mountain Running Races.
The 14 milers is an International Skyrunning Federation certified Skyrace. One of only two in the United States. Skyrunners can now earn points toward the ISF Championships.
You also will earn an UTMB Index.
TRUE MOUNTAIN RUNNING IN THE PNW
A real mountain race to the summit of magnificent Mt. Ellinor in the Olympic Mountains. This is Beast of Big Creek.
Join us in Hoodsport, Washington on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Climb Mt. Ellinor with us and race the (almost historic now) Beast of Big Creek.
Please visit our website for full details.
A SKYRACE
We're offering three distances, a 14, a 5 miler, and the Double.
For the Skyrace you'll get to climb for over 5,300ft to the actual summit of Mt. Ellinor. And then, you'll get to bomb the whole way back down.
For the Forest loop you'll climb 1,200 ft. and get to run through lush forest along streams and over several fun wooden bridges.
For the Double, you'll run the Skyrace on Saturday followed by the Forest Loop on Sunday.
Start and finish is at Big Creek Campground and we'll be offering limited camping for the weekend.
