About the Sandy Bottom 8-Hour, 4 Hou, & 5k
The Sandy Bottom 8-Hour, 4-Hour, & 5k are at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, VA. This is your chance to dust off the winter cobwebs while running on a flat, fast, 3-ish mile loop. The 5k race is a measured 5k route on the same race course, with an extra tenth to the route.
This is a chip-timed event.
Want to run the 8-hour and bring along a team? Teams for the 8-hour are a max of 6. You get to run all your own miles and compete for the individual awards, while also competing for the team award!

Temperature: It's Hampton Roads, so it could be 30 degrees or 75 - you never know). Year 1 of the event it was quite pleasant (even with a little rain at the start), Years 2 & 3 it was super cold (which was fun!)
Bring your own hydration device - this is a cupless event. We will have water available and nutritional items available. We'll provide a list of aid station items as the race event nears..
The run is 3ish miles (the 5k is a measured 5k route) and covers a very easy, navigable loop. The course will be well marked.

There's a restroom in the Sandy Bottom Nature Center and it is heated. The large shelter at the park will be rented and used for the run, although you are also asked to bring your own portable chairs. Runners can set up small tents (no larger than 10x10 canopies).
Sweet Shirts
This year we'll have a shirt option and you can snag a sweet short-sleeve shirt for just a few bucks.
