Your participation in the Placer Trail Running Festival not only guarantees an unforgettable adventure but also contributes to a worthy cause. By registering for our event, you will be supporting the Placer Land Trust, an organization dedicated to the conservation, access, and preservation of vast acres of natural land in the region. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and ensure the protection of these valuable resources for generations to come.
Mark your calendars for April 13th, 2024, and join us for a day filled with excitement, camaraderie, and a healthy dose of challenge amidst the captivating woods of El Dorado County. Lace up your trail shoes and get ready to conquer the extraordinary!

Awards and Swag
We'll be doing things a little differently at PTRF! All runners will receive a finishers award based on how many times they've run with us and a goodie bag of sponsored items in 2024. If you ran with us last year then look forward to a unique award for second timers.
In an effort to cut the waste and make some room in your closet, we'll be offering tech t-shirts as an optional purchase for $15 and long sleeves for $20.
We've expanded our gender award options to three categories (female, male, and non-binary) with age groups for all.
25k & 50k
Our 25k & 50k follow the similar routes through the park. The 25k / 15.5 mile is an out and back has 1830 ft of total climbing. The 50k / 31.1 mile is an out and back to Skunk Hallow and has 3543ft of total climbing. All of it is runnable on a mix of single track and double wide trails.

25k & 50k Teams
Our 25k and 50k races have a team option for groups of 3 or more. The top 3 runners on each team will score by overall place in their respective race. Top 3 teams in each race will score prizes. Lowest score wins!
Clubs may have multiple teams, like "A" and "B". Clubs with more than one team: You must decide amongst yourselves who is on "A" and "B" team and the team name. Each team is gender-less, this means scores are solely based on overall place.
Don't have a team? No problem! You can select "Surprise me!" at checkout and we'll put you on a randomized team with others who don't have a team!
10k
Our 10k is a mix of single track and double wide trails together with 550 ft of climbing. There is one aid station on course aid stations for this race at mile 3.6.

5k & 5k Canicross
Our 5k & canicross 5k events are a great chance for you and your pal to hit the mix of single track and double wide trails together with 181 ft of climbing (may also run without your pal). There are no on course aid stations for this race, although there will be a fully stocked station at the start / finish line. We’ll organize the starting line according to dog size with larger dogs up front and smaller dogs toward the back. There will be plenty of space to pass on the course in the first half. All dogs must remain on leash at all times prior, during, and after the race. For safety reasons, no exceptions will be made.
