Get ready for an unforgettable experience as the Placer Trail Running Festival returns in 2025 with exciting new locations! On April 12th, 2025, the 50k race will unfold at Peninsula Campground in Pilot Hill, offering runners the chance to traverse the scenic trails alongside Folsom Lake. Then, on May 17th, 2025, Granite Beach in Granite Bay, CA, will play host to the 25k, 10k, 5k, and 5k Canicross races, promising an adventure-packed day for participants.

Awards and Swag

We'll be doing things a little differently at PTRF! All runners will receive a finishers award based on how many times they've run with us and a goodie bag of sponsored items in 2024. If you ran with us last year then look forward to a unique award for second timers.

Participants will score a free trucker hat with registration or you may trade out your trucker hat for a BOCO Custom Running tech hat for $20.00 (normally $27).

50k

The 50k / 31.1 mile takes place on April 12th at 8:30AM at Peninsula Campground, is an out and back beyond Acorn Creek Parking Lot and has 3407ft of total climbing. All of it is runnable on a mix of single track and double wide trails. Aid stations will be stocked with gels, chips, candy, potatoes, bananas, water and Skratch Hydration.

Rodgers Gang Aid Station - Mile 5.5 (8.2 miles to next)
Acorn Creek Aid Station - Mile 13.7 (3.6 miles to next)
Acorn Creek Aid Station - Mile 17.3 (8.2 miles to next)
Rodgers Gang Aid Station - Mile 25.6 (5.5 miles to finish)

50k CUT-OFF TIMES
Cut-off times are as based on a 16:00 min/mile pace:
Mile 17.3 - Acorn Creek Aid Station - 1:25PM / run time 4hrs, 35mins
Mile 25.6 - Rodgers Gang Aid Station - 3:35PM / run time 6hrs, 50mins
Mile 31.1 - Finish Line at Peninsula Campground - 5:00PM / run time 8hrs, 00mins

50k Course:

25k

The 25k/15.6 mile takes place on May 17th at 8:30AM from Granite Beach State Park. All of it is runnable on a mix of single track and double wide trails. Aid stations will be stocked with gels, chips, candy, potatoes, bananas, water and Skratch Hydration. Course Map will be posted by May 1st, 2024

10k

The 10K takes place on May 17th at 8:30AM from Granite Beach State Park, is a mix of single track and double wide trails together with 763ft of climbing. There is one aid station on course aid stations for this race at mile 5. Course Map will be posted by May 1st, 2024

5k & 5k Canicross

Our 5k & canicross 5k events are a great chance for you and your pal to run together. The 5k takes place on May 17th at 8:30AM from Granite Beach State Park, is mix of single track and double wide trails together with 306ft of climbing (may also run without your pal). Course Map will be posted by May 1st, 2024
