Welcome

It's with great, great sadness that we recognize the loss of Ken Gregorich, a great runner and former race director. Join us in dedicating the 2026 race to Ken's memory.

Skyline is one of the oldest continuously running 50k races in the United States — and one of the best days of the year.

The course starts and finishes at Lake Chabot Marina, winding through a big loop in the East Bay Regional Parks all the way up to Skyline Gate. It's a classic for a reason: beautiful trails, significant climbing, and a finish line that feels genuinely earned.

Skyline has a well-earned reputation as the perfect first 50k. The volunteer support here is something special — groups like the Dusty Bottoms, Running for a Better Oakland, Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders, and the Pamakids bring real energy to every aid station. The Volunteer Safety Patrol appears like a flash mob at key intersections, keeping you on course and cheering you on.

Whether you're racing for a podium spot or out there to finish strong and have a great day, Skyline delivers. It's fast and competitive at the front, and a genuine celebration everywhere else. Either way, you'll be talking about this one all year.

Saturday, August 1 — Bib Pickup, 4:00–6:00 PM (not mandatory)

Pick up for yourself or a friend — your bib comes with a Sports Basement shopping discount. Can't make it? No problem. Bibs are available race morning.

Swag and Awards

Every finisher receives a race shirt, special Skyline socks, and a finisher's medal. Overall winners and age group leaders (3 deep) take home awards.

USATF Grand Prix and UTMB

Skyline 50k is part of the P-USATF Grand Prix. Both the 50k and half marathon are also UTMB Index races.

Refunds and Other Policies
