The Event
At Farm Park Challenge, everyone starts each loop at the top of the hour. If you run the 5-ish mile loop in less than 60 mins, you can rest until the next start. Choose a 3-hour (three loops), 6-hour (six loops), or 10-hour (10 loops) challenge. We also have a traditionally timed marathon, if you've got more stamina than speed.
The Course
Each lap is a 5-ish mile loop on the natural surface trails of the Agricultural History Farm Park in Montgomery County, Maryland. Each loop will have grassy sections as well as single track including some sections with exposed rocks and roots and a couple of minor creek crossings. For the most part, the trail is fast and highly runnable. There are a few hills, but no major climbs. The aid station is considered one of the best in all of trail running: It will have water, sports drink, salty and sugary snacks, and lots of other options, including vegan and vegetarian. There will be plenty to eat. The course is subject to change as trail conditions warrant or as park management deems necessary.
