This is the last of the 2013 Trail Race Series put on by Kyana Running. 13.1 miles, all single-track, except the little road piece at the start to string it out a bit. Quite hilly, but the most beautiful forest we have in the area (okay, Bernheim is equally lovely). Folks who have run the Siltstone almost invariably list it as their favorite trail in the area. Big climbs, but also some really nice ridge running, particularly spectacular when most of the leaves are down.
Three aid stations (two, but you hit one twice), stocked with water, HEED and various light trail goodies.
Fee is $30 ($40 week/day of event) - less than half the cost of most road minis - and a lot more fun! Also, if you want a Long sleeve technical unisex shirt, you will need to register by Friday, October 25th. Shirts are $5.00. We decided to go with medals for all finishers this year (and the option of buying a shirt at a discounted price).
Siltstone counts double toward the trail race series points system, so if you're in the running (npi) for series prizes, you won't want to miss this one!
