Description
Welcome to the Mount Laguna Trail Marathon! This year's race is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 8 am.
The Mount Laguna Trail Marathon is a classic Southern California trail race offering runners a well-organized event with highly experienced volunteers to cheer and support participants throughout the day.
The course is a single loop of technical single-track trail covering mostly rolling terrain. Total elevation gain for the run is 3,358 feet with the first half running high on the Pacific Crest Trail overlooking the Anza Borrego Desert. The second half will climb and descend Champagne Pass and tour the meadows surrounding Big Laguna Lake.
We aim to create an inclusive vibe that celebrates our diverse trail-running community while prioritizing environmental sustainability. This event runs on the ancestral homelands of the Kumeyaay people and we express our gratitude for their stewardship of the living lands through which we run.
The Mount Laguna Trail Marathon was founded for the purpose of giving back to the community and we are committed to remaining a no-profit event. We will continue to support a variety of local volunteer organizations whose work makes trail running possible in this area, as well as other organizations whose work aligns with our values.
The safety of our community is our first priority. We will follow all Federal, State and local public health recommendations at the Mount Laguna Trail Marathon to ensure that all participants, volunteers, and spectators are safe. We will also abide by all USFS closures due to fire hazards or other weather or natural hazards. Please note that at any time our permit may be canceled and we cannot guarantee a refund or future event.
