The purpose of this race is to raise money for band activities, scholarships, repairs to instruments and operating expenses. With the decrease support in state school support we are increasingly dependent on raising our own funds.

Course description

All courses are an out & back beginning at the intersection of Spring street and Esplanade street. Upon returning to the start location you will continue to run around the backside of field house and head towards the back entrance to the track making a 3/4 clockwise loop around the track to the finish line.

1 mile run/walk will proceed down Esplanade street turn right on Pine street and right on 11th street before hitting the turn around mark. There will be children from the age of 7 and up running this race, stay on the side walk at all times! There will be cones along side the street with flagging along the way to keep any vehicles from the area as well as volunteers. You will be immediately disqualified if you veer of the course that is marked.This race starts at 9:00 a.m.

5K run/walk will proceed down Esplanade street turn right on Pine street and right on 11th street which will merge on to Oregon avenue. Halfway down Oregon avenue there will be a crossing sign and a volunteer enabling you to cross the street to the other side. Please be very careful at this crossing and listen to the volunteers before crossing. Continue on the left side to the turn around point across from Circle K Mini Mart. There is one aid station at the turn around location with water only. This race starts at 9:30 a.m.

10K will proceed with the same directions as the 5K until they reach the back entrance road to the park in which case they will take a left up that road to the top, round the first corner to the right to the turn around point. There is 3 aid stations on the course, the 5K turn around point with water only in which you will hit twice, and at the turn around point at the top of the park with water, coke and sprite. This race starts at 9:30 a.m.

10K relay will proceed and run the same route as the 10K and will have two exchange points. First exchange is at mile 2 on Oregon Avenue and the second exchange at mile 4 on Oregon Avenue as well. Both will be clearly marked with sign marked relay exchange 1 and relay exchange 2. This race starts at 9:30 a.m.
