The 2020 GAP Race Cancelled due to COVID-19.
This race is all about fun running on the fantastic Great Allegheny Passage!
The sixth edition of the GAP Marathon and Half is set for Wednesday October 7, 2020. The course consists of 6.56 miles of excellent crushed stone surfaced Great Allegheny Passage trail. Half marathoners run an out-and-back on the course to record a half finish, and marathoners run two out-and-backs on the scenic trail to record a marathon finish. This race is the first race in the 2020 Altis Mid-Atlantic Marathon and Half Marathon Series taking place on October 7-11. Run one, some, or all five of the Series races and enjoy some super trail miles on the GAP and the C&O Canal Towpath.

The race start/finish is at the GAP Frostburg Trailhead. Once again it is noted that the trail surface is a crushed stone surface which is great for running. The course is not flat, but the elevation change is gradual. The half marathon has about 1030 feet of gain and loss, and the marathon runners will experience about 2060 feet of gain and loss on the course.
