RACE IS RE-SCHEDULED TO Feb. 26!

Rain, rain, rain. We are re-scheduling the race to Sunday, February 26, due to the heavy rain. After input from Griffith Park, the concern is that the trail will still be flooded this Sunday (even though the forecast is clear). Also, we will start at 8:00 AM. Registration is open again and will close this Thursday, 2/23.

Celebrate a Life, Save a Life

Join Los Angeles Frontrunners as we celebrate the life of one of our own, Marilyn Jackson, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2014. Action Jackson - as she was affectionately known to her Walgreen's family - courageously fought the disease with her trademark humor, smile, and unending love for all those in her life. Marilyn was greatly aided by Life Worth Saving, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to support urban women and their families who struggle with cancer and other diseases.

As a LA Frontrunner, Marilyn was our 2011 Newcomer of the Year and brought the same energy, smile and enthusiasm to her running that she showed in all areas of her life.

Please join us for a fun 5K/10K run/walk to celebrate Marilyn and help us raise funds for Life Worth Saving.

The Run/Walk

You can choose either the 5K or 10K, and you can run as fast or walk as slow as you'd like! Registration is $25 and includes a race shirt and finisher's medal.

The race starts and finishes in the Crystal Springs Picnic Area behind the Griffith Park Ranger Station. The 5K loop is a flat loop around the golf course on the main trail. The 10K is two loops.

Donation, Celebration Board & Mile Markers of Love

LA Frontrunners is completely volunteer and 100% of all donations are dispersed to Life Worth Saving, so your dollars really are going to the cause! There are three options:

Traditional Donation: If you would like to make a donation, please click the link below. Your donation will be included in the total donation LA Frontrunners will make to Life Worth Saving after the race and is tax deductible.

Please click HERE for Traditional Donation

Celebration of Life Board $50: Far too many of us have lost loved ones to cancer. At the race, in the start/finish/staging area, there will be a Celebration of Life Board. You will provide a photo and a bio (if you choose) of your loved one that will be on display.

Mile Marker of Love $100: You will provide a photo of your loved one and the mile marker will contain the pic. There is a link below where you can see mile marker examples from our recent Doggie Dash. You keep the mile marker after the race.

Life Worth Saving

YOUR ASSISTANCE WILL HELP URBAN WOMEN STAY IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER AND HEART DISEASE

Thank you for choosing to support LIFE WORTH SAVING. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among African American women (and the 2nd most common cancer among all women). African American women are at greater risk for breast cancer than any other ethnic group, yet they are less likely to know that they may have major risk factors. When you support LWS, you allow us to bring knowledge and resources to women who may not go to the doctor. Our work and partnerships will help us fight these life threatening diseases in our community. Your support will not just save a life, it will save a family!
