Otter Night Trail Runs

The Otter Night Trail Runs began 5 years ago as a way to practice using my headlamp for an ultra. I have experienced trouble in the past running with a headlamp and I know it is vital to know your equipment. I have used headlamps with not enough light, or ones that make me dizzy from the movement, ones that are too lose, or I cannot change the battery. I have shown up for a 100 miler not knowing or using my headlamps prior. I have been left in the dark trying to find my way. For these reasons I wanted to run at night. This is the perfect place to try out your equipment and nutrtion for your upcoming races. It is also just a fun and beautiful place to run.

This run is a loop, 8 plus miles per lap. You can run 1 to 4 loops beginning at 7pm. The idea is that you can see your way the first loop then the dark sets in. Each lap goes through a camp area where we will be camping. (The camp cost is included in your entry.) Just bring your tent and sleeping bag. We will have a fire going and a grill with good food for you. You can stop with each lap if you like. We will be at the camp fire drinking beer, playing music, sharing stories, dreams, and up coming runs.

NEW DATE FOR THE OTTER NIGHT RUNS

I decided to change the date this year. The past 2 years May has been cold with rain. June should prove to be a great month for weather. Camping will be perfect. Come and spend the weekend. Otter Creek is a wonderful place! Bring your family. There are mountain bike trails, fishing, and much more. Look forward to seeing you there!

Your entry includes admission into the park, aid station snacks, food from the grill, great t-shirts, camping, and other swag.
Bring your family or whoever you like with you...there is plenty of room to camp!

The price will increase $5.00 race day.

Event's current local time: 8:55 PM CT
