10 Hour Ultramarathon

Registration will open early for a Black Friday weekend discounted price of $60.00 on November 22nd. Registration will close at 10:00 p.m. on the 25th and not reopen until January 1, 2019. Registrations for the period 1/1/19 through 3/31/19 will be $65.00. Registrations from 4/1/19 to July 14 will be $75.00.

No Refunds
The registration fee is not refundable or transferable for any reason. In the event the Nature Center and/or Pelican Park is closed due to bad weather or other unforeseen reason, however, LUR will attempt to reschedule the race, but a rescheduled date cannot be guaranteed.

Location
HtH D2D will be run in the Northlake Nature Center in Mandeville, Louisiana. Parking and the start of the race will be in Pelican Park in Mandeville. The entrance to Pelican Park is approximately one half a mile east of the Nature Center on Highway 190.

Course/Aid Stations
The course will be a four mile loop consisting primarily of double track trails and some powerline. Since it's mid-summer in south Louisiana, expect hot temperatures and high humidity. Remember that in these conditions, fluids are your best friend. There will be one fully stocked aid station at the start/finish pavilion with ice water, coke, mountain dew, ginger ale and traditional aid station food items and sports drink at the main aid station. Blister and chaffing protection products will also be on hand in the main aid. A second aid station with water only will be near the two mile point. Cups will NOT be provided at the second aid station.

This is a night trail race and HEAD LAMPS ARE MANDATORY.

Awards
Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers. Runners that register more than two weeks prior to race date will receive a high quality cotton blend t-shirt. To receive the T-Shirt you must register no later than June 30. Runners that complete 32 or more miles will receive a finishers award.

Start Time/Cut off
This race is perfect for any runner that wants to acquire night time trail running experience. We will start running precisely at dusk, 8:02 p.m., on July 13 and run until dawn, 5:59:59 a.m., the following morning. You will have ten hours to run as many miles as you want or as many miles as you can. But, be warned, any miles ran during a lap that is completed after the clock hits 6:00 a.m. on July 14 will NOT be counted.

Course Markings
Don't worry about getting lost in the dark. It is unlikely to happen. The course will be well marked with orange flags containing reflective tape and will be like running down an airport runway at night. Honestly, runners tell me that the course is easier to follow in the dark because of the reflective tape on the course markers.

Hotels/Camping
For runners coming in from out of town, there are numerous hotels (Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Best Western, La Quinta, etc.) in Covington, Louisiana that are within twenty minutes of the Northlake Nature Center. If you prefer camping, Fontainebleau State Park is also less than half a mile from the start of the race and offers camping facilities that accommodate both RV's and tents.
