Course Preview / Training Run:

Mark your calendars for our annual fall Course Preview and Training Run on Sunday, September 22nd at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows!

Please note that this a PAID event that requires registration and is limited to 125 people. The cost is $20 for the run, which includes a free coffee at Coffeebar Squaw Valley, yummy GU calories and more! We encourage everyone to celebrate afterwards with a $20 pizza/salad buffet at Fireside Pizza.

Our friends from Salomon Running will join us with a complete demo set of their most popular trail models and LEKI USA will also join the party with plenty of demo Skyrunning poles for your enjoyment. Lastly, our retail partner Alpenglow Sports will provide Salomon, LEKI, Darn Tough Vermont Socks and GU discount coupons to be redeemed at their Tahoe City location.

Course marshal Steve Hammond, along with RDs Ethan Veneklasen and Geoff Quine will guide participants on a magnificent 26k loop on the high alpine trails of Squaw Valley. This is a great way to see the 26/52k course first hand, while you get in a solid training run at altitude ... complete with epic views of Lake Tahoe! Please note that while the course will be snow free ... we can't guarantee that there won't be snow on race day! There will be one aid station at roughly the halfway point of the 26k distance. However, if you feel strongly about your own personal nutrition needs please come prepared accordingly.

The group will meet at 8am in front of Coffeebar at the traditional 26/52k start line. The group will then break into three distinct pace groups before enjoying one lap on the course with a 9am departure.

Whether you've raced Broken Arrow or are new to Skyrunning, this will let you cut your teeth amongst friends in a fun and encouraging environment. As always, all of our Broken Arrow Skyrace participants are rockstars .... so all abilities are welcome and encouraged to attend. However, you must be 16-years-old to run with the group for safety considerations.

Don't forget to mark you calendar for Monday, December 9th when our 2020 registration opens!
