Cancelled Event

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

The Course

The ORRC Hagg Lake Trail Run starts and finishes at C Ramp, going around the lake clockwise on the trail, with occasional sections on paved shoulders. (For those of you familiar with the ORRC Hagg Mud, this is the 25K course without the out and back section, and less muddy trails.) The minimum elevation is 322 feet, and the maximum elevation is 466 feet; there is a net elevation gain of 1035 feet.

Start Time/Cut-off Time

Everyone starts at 8:00am (i.e. no early start). The cut-off time is noon. This is a running event, not a walking event. You must be able to maintain an average pace of 17:10 per mile (or better) to meet the 4 hour cut-off. Understand that running on a trail is more difficult than running on a road. Some walking is permitted, but if you are unable to run at all, please don't sign up. We will enforce this cut-off.

Road and Trail Double

The ORRC Hagg Lake Road Run and Trail Run are on two separate days. You can choose to run the 10.5 mile road run on Saturday May 4th and/or run the 14 mile mile trail run on Sunday. If you run both days, you earn your very own pie! April 28th is the last day to register for the double and be guaranteed a pie. You may register for the double after that date, but we can't guarantee a pie for you at the finish.

For complete details on the ORRC Hagg Lake (Road) Run, go to www.orrc.net. To register for the road run, go to www.runsignup.com

Registration

Fees: through March 1, 2020 are $80 for the trail run and $105 for the double (i.e. run the road on Saturday and run the trail on Sunday). Fees for ORRC members: through March 1, 2020 are $75 for the trail run and $100 for the double (i.e. run the road on Saturday and run the trail on Sunday). On March 1, 2020 the fees go up to $85 for the trail and $110 for the double. Day of race fees for everyone are $100 for the trail run and $120 for the double. If you want to do the double, register for the trail run, and contact us at hagglake@oregonroadrunnersclub.org, and we will send you a code to get a discount for the road run registration at www.runsignup.com. Online registration closes at 11:59pm on Thursday May 1, 2020. Day of race registration is available.

Refunds/Entry Transfer

ORRC does not offer refunds, but your entry may be transferred to another ORRC event.

Start/Finish/Parking

The Hagg Lake Trail Run starts and finishes at C Ramp. There is ample parking available at C Ramp, but overflow parking at Sain Creek Picnic Area is available if needed. Parking passes are included in the registration fees, so no need to stop at the fee booth at the entrance to the lake. We encourage volunteers and participants to rideshare. You will be given a permit when you enter C Ramp. Park where the volunteers instruct you.

Packet pick-up

Packet pick-up for the trail run is available on Sunday at C Ramp starting at 7:00am. You may also pick up your packet for Sunday's run on Saturday at C Ramp from 7:30am to noon (while the road race is going on).

Aid Stations

There are two aid stations on the course--at Tanner Creek (Mile 4.1) and at the Dam Overlook (Mile 9). Aid stations will be stocked with the usual ultra fare: PB&J, bananas, oranges, gummy bears, trail mix, chips, pickles, Gu gels and Gu Brew. Our race is cupless; we will not provide cups. You will need to carry your own collapsible cup, bottle or hydration bladder. We will have reusable cups for sale on race day for $5.00. We will have a basic first aid kit available at the start/finish and at each aid station, and EMS on stand-by.

Self Support/Injuries

You are responsible for knowing what you need. If the aid stations are too far apart, it's up to you to bring your own water, food, etc. If you are injured on the course, you can drop out at an aid station and a volunteer will drive you to the finish. We ask all participants to notify aid station volunteers about injured runners that they pass so we can pick up the injured runner in-between stations and get them aid sooner if needed, or if they are unable to get to an aid station. We will have sweepers on the course checking on runners and EMS available.

Potties

There will be multiple portapotties at C Ramp, and one portapotty at each aid station.

T-shirts

The race shirt is optional and not included in the registration fee. The cost is $20. Only pre-registered runners are guaranteed a shirt.

Hagg Lake Glass

All finishers will receive a Hagg Lake glass, included in the registration fee.

Post Race Festivities

Once you finish the run, expect awards, raffle prizes, hot dogs, hamburgers, mac & cheese, beer, cider and snacks. Family and friends are welcome to join in the feed.

Awards

Plaques to the top 3 open male and female finishers and the top 3 masters (40+) male and female finishers. Ribbons three deep in 5 year age groups. If you win an award, please pick it up before you leave. Awards will not be mailed.

Raffle

After the race starts we will draw bib numbers and post winners on a board. Check the board after the race and if your number is listed, claim your prize at the awards table. You might win running gear or a pie!

Headphone Policy

The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race offers and for the safety of all participants, ORRC encourages a headphones-free environment during our event.

Dogs

We have a no dog policy for this event because of our liability insurance coverage.

Results

Results will be available on Chrome Books at the finish line and be posted at www.orrc.net. This race is chip timed.

Trail Work Day

We'll have a Trail Work Day on Saturday April 18, 2020 at 8am. We will clear the trail of low-hanging branches, blackberry vines, trash, and such to ensure the trail is ready for race day. Grab your clippers and use this day as a walk or an (interrupted) training run. We'll meet at the Elks lot near the dam and divide the trail work. Contact us at hagglake@oregonroadrunnersclub.org by April 17th so we can buy enough coffee and donuts to get your trail work day started. We'll have you sign a waiver and give you a park permit (so no need to stop at the fee booth).
