Last Runner Standing Rules
RULES: All LRS events start at 6:00pm SHARP Friday night.
Each LRS Runner will have to start each loop at the designated loop time or they will be OUT.
LOOP TIMES:
Solo: 85 Minutes (13:41 per mile average)
2-Person Relay: 75 Minutes (12:04 per mile average)
*NOTE: Depending on weather for race day, the Race Directors may add minutes per loop as this course can get wet and muddy.
LRS Relay Runners: You MUST designate a running order for your team and stick with that order for the whole event! You must switch runners EACH LOOP. We are taking the military approach when it comes to the relays with that: if one of your team members drops, your whole team is out. If your team-mate does NOT complete the loop in the designated time, you are NOT able to start the next loop and stay in the race. You HAVE TO have an "exchange" before the clock resets back to 0:00 for that loop.
Inter-loop Time: To stay in the race, you need to finish the entire loop and start the next loop within your events time frame. Your "inter-loop time" is your own. For instance: if you are a solo LRS runner, and you finish your loop in 65 minutes, you have 20 minutes to eat, sleep, do some push-ups, talk to friends and family, whatever! Just make sure you are at the Start/Finish when that clock hits 85 min and roles back to 0:00!
We will have time keepers at the start and finish for the whole race that will be strictly judging cut off times. Even if you come in 5 seconds after your loops cut off time, you will be out. (Tip, come in early each loop so we do not need to worry about Photo Finishes).
Ending the Race: The race will end when there is only one (1) last runner standing for the solo and only one (1) 2-person relay team left.
The winning runner/relay will win by:
A.) Being the only runner/team to complete the last loop in the cut off time with no other runner/team completing that same loop in the cut off time.
B.) If there are only two (2) runners/teams left in the event, and both runners/teams do not make the cut off time on the last loop, the runner/team that finished the last loop in the fastest time will win that event.
There are NO PACERS allowed for the LRS events. (However, you are more than welcome to have people cheering you on out on the course. We will also have team members who will be out during the race running a few loops and encouraging runners.)
Course and Equipment:
The course will be marked with flags, reflective flags, signs and mores. Flags will always be on your RIGHT.
All LRS runners MUST bring a head lamp with extra batteries. We are not responsible if you run out of light and get lost!

The course can get VERY muddy in some places so plan accordingly! (Extra shoes and socks is a MUST for this event.)
We will have two (2) Aid stations out on the course with food: PBJ, Chips, Pickles, Oranges, Candy, Coke, Tailwind, water, cheese quesadillas and more.
You may have your drop bag right at the start and finish or in the lodge by the start and finish. You may also go to your 'camp site' which will be close to the start/finish between loops. (As long as you are back before you next loop time starts, you can really go where ever :) )
We want to commend all of you for even signing up for this event! This will hopefully be an awesome adventure for all of you and something you remember for years to come! No matter how far you go on race day, you should be proud for even attempting something this crazy!
Aid Stations
Aid Stations: There will be 2 aid stations on the 10k loop. The main aid station will be at the Start/Finish with the other being 3 miles into the loop. (We will have a water station 1.5 miles in for the 5k course.)
Aid station will be stocked with a wide variety of food, hydration and nutrition. LRS Ultra runners are encouraged to also bring their own nutrition and hydration.
The main aid station will have a spot for drop bags, and the LRS Ultra runners may set up their own “station” near the Start/Finish. There will be camping allowed for the weekend (see ‘camping’ section), so you may refuel/ set up shop in your tent as well.
