Sleepy Hollow Hourly Ultra

This Event Took Place Sat. Oct 12, 2019

RACE DESCRIPTION

Come hallucinate with us! This is the final event in the Tortoise and the Hare Race Series! Run your best 3, 6, 12 or 24 hrs on a flat 1.2 mile loop course in North Georgia! Set in the scenic Boling Park in the small town of Canton, GA. It's a cool, spooky October night...you never know what you may "see" while running out your PR's. Accomplish that Ultramarathon distance or PR that's been eluding you! (We had 100 mile finishers both years in the Midsummer Night's Dream Hourly Ultra!) Come run with a group of friends and/or meet other runners from around the country as you share an October Sleepy Hollow night on a trail. There is plenty of room in the open field in the center of the loop to set up your tents and personal aid stations. - See more at: http://sleepyhollow.racesonline.com

COURSE

The course is a 1.2 mile loop that is part gravel and part hard packed dirt. In the center of the loop is a large oval grass area where all runners can set up tents/personal aid stops. We will have flood lights in the main field and glow sticks and lanterns will light the outer .25 mile loop giving it a "Sleepy Hollow" spooky look and feel. You may even see few characters! We will have one fully stocked aid station with something sweet and something salty as well as fluids, so no need to carry anything - you're always just a mile or so away from the aid station! Don't forget your headlamp! - See more at: http://sleepyhollow.racesonline.com

After the race, you can exchange your shirt from the remaining sizes available.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE HOURLY WAVES?
This race is chip timed, so your laps will begin when you cross the starting line. If you are changing to a shorter hourly wave, you don't need to do anything to change your wave start time. Simply begin with the start wave of your choice. If you want to "upgrade" your distance to a longer hourly wave, send us an email info@tortoiseandthehareracing.com.

Results will be posted on the race website online and can be found by scanning the QR code on your bib. -We no longer mail medals. If you leave and have placed or finished and didn't get your medal it will be donated to charity.
Here are more answers to your questions: Yes, you can walk/run/crawl laps. If you need to take a break, you can. Some people sleep.
We give a portion of our proceeds to rescue children from human trafficking.
If you want to bring a group and have a team name you can do something like that. We'll announce it on FaceBook and at the race.
It is free to camp. However, if the field is wet we don't allow vehicles on the grass.
