#2- We now offer TWO days of racing and camping with the added 100K distance!!!

Join us in the Olympic Mountains(OM) and find out why we say, There's No Place Like OM....

OM 100K

There is nothing quite like the OM 100K anywhere! This is a continuous course(not an out & back or loops) with ten aid stations and very few repeat sections. The course will challenge you with over 14,200' of elevation gain on~80% single-track trail. This is a challenging 100K! You will run alongside Gold Creek, the Dungeness River and right up to the Buckhorn Wilderness boundary in two different locations including via. Dirty Face Ridge where you will take in breath-taking views of the Olympic Range from your course high-point of 5,820'! If you already did the 50K then you have already experienced the hardest climbs on the course. The 100K will cover all of the 50K course, just not in the same order

Prize Money in the 100K:
* $500 First Place
* $250 Second Place
* $125 Third Place
Same prize package for Women and Men

* Race Cut-off, Sunday, August 18th at 3am (22 hour cut-off)

WILL YOU GET TO SAY YOU WERE HERE FOR THE VERY FIRST OM 100K???

OM 50K

This is a graduate level 50K!
You start at Race HQ, a retired rock quarry at 2,600’ above sea level deep in the Olympic National Forest, then grind your way towards two of the most popular summits on the Olympic Peninsula-Mount Townsend and Mount Zion! The high point of the course, at the Buckhorn Wilderness boundary (just short of the Mt Townsend summit) , offers huge views across the eastern slope of the Olympic range. This single loop course boasts 8, 600' of climbing and is 74% single-track.
* Race Start, Saturday, August 17th, 8AM (Mass Start)
* 7PM Cut-off (11 hours)

OM 25K

Don't let the distance fool you! This single loop course features almost 4,000' of elevation gain(and loss), including one of the toughest climbs of any 25K - a 2,250' grind to the summit of Mt Zion over 3.7 miles. Bring your climbing legs AND your running legs as the forest road sections will test your leg speed. Not sure you're ready for a 50K? This is a great course to test your ability to step up to run the 50K next year!
* Race Start, SUNDAY, August 18th, 9AM
* Race Cut-off, 3PM (6 hour cut-off)

Camping

CAMPING
Please come camp with us at Race HQ! Friday and Saturday night- no fee to camp.
Tents, camper vans and very small RVs. welcome
Port-a-Potties will be provided, but there are no other camping facilities, so plan accordingly. The closest town is over 30 minutes away so plan ahead and bring your own food, water and other camping. We ask you to please help us to manage the clean up by packing out what you packed in.
The Race HQ is a retired quarry with cool rock features often used as a shooting range.
Bring chairs to join us around the campfire both nights (burn bans permitting, of course!)
Last year, for friends and family, we had extra meals and beer available post-race for a suggested donation-proceeds went to the PNW Trail Association and our ham radio operators-VECOM Jefferson County. We also had free coffee race morning. We plan to do this again this year. Thank you to Slippery Pig Brewery and Caffe Perfetto!!!

Getting Here

Race HQ is in a retired quarry deep in the Olympic National Forest with the closest town being the small village of Quilcene. Plan your trip in advance! It takes a beat to get here if you don't live close, so give yourself some extra time and we recommend taking the free camping option. It's more fun anyway!

The drive is 12 miles after turning off Rt 101(give yourself 30 minutes for this drive-no special vehicle is needed, but do expect potholes and rough roads). While most of the forest road in good condition, plan your drive time accordingly so you arrive in plenty of time.

Note: You will lose cell signal shortly after leaving 101, so print/screenshot these directions and take them with you to help ensure you arrive (and return) smoothly. While the drive is relatively straight-forward, Forest Service roads are traditionally not well marked and can cause confusion.

Note: Navigation apps ARE NOT reliable for getting here. You will also loose cell signal soon after leaving Rt 101 so save or print out the Turn by Turn directions(below) and plan to follow those, not your GPS.

Directions to Race HQ - Turn-by-Turn directions

From Rt 101, locate Lords Lake Road which is about 2 miles north of the village of Quilcene. Head west on Lords Lake Loop Road for approximately 3.4 miles(There is only way you can turn onto it)

Arriving at Lords Lake (pavement ends), bear LEFT onto Little Quilcene Road (FS Road 28). Go straight for approximately 4.2 miles

You’ll come to an intersection — turn RIGHT to continue on FS Road 28. This road is also called Gold Creek Road. Go straight for 1.3 miles

You’ll come to a fork in the road. Take a SLIGHT RIGHT ont/o FS Road 2810. Go straight for 3.2 miles

Turn LEFT on FS Road 2810-070*. The parking area will be 0.4 miles down this road. *Google Maps does not show this road, but we can assure you it exists!

The Race Director will hang signs for drivers-please note that thes.e will be a different color than the pre-hung course markings which will intersect your drive in a few locations. That said, please print or save the Turn by Turn directions on your device and do not rely on our signs to get you there. Last year some signs were tampered with which created some confusion for drivers.

We are providing coordinates for the race HQ, but Do Not Use these to navigate to the race-Please use the Turn by Turn instructions above (47.92382, -123.03803)

Ferry Service
There are few things as lovely as taking the ferry! For runners who choose to cross the Sound by boat, be sure to factor ferry departure times into your trip and wait times which tend to be longer on the weekend. Also, check daily schedules and alerts for additional boat delays. For more information on travel by ferry, visit WSDOT at this link, https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/washington-state-ferries/schedules
