BMT Stuff

Join us in a heap load of running fun on Saturday, October 17th, at 8am, up in Lassen National Forest. The Butte Meadows Trail-A-Thon promises to be a great time! The BMT is on trail and fire roads with a great technical aspect to much of the course.

The half and full marathon distances lead you up to Colby Mountain Lookout, with spectacular views of Lassen and a 360 degree panorama of gorgeous scenery as far as the eye can see. The Half Marathon is actually just a smidge longer than 13.1 miles and is the Full Marathon is just slightly over 26.2. Check out the elevation profile and map inks below. Both the half and the full marathon courses utilize the last 13ish miles of our Loco Challenge 100k course and challenge you to be the first runner to the top of GNARLY HILL.

Every year we crown the first male and female to reach the top of Gnarly Hill (Colby Mountain Aid Station) king and queen of Gnarly Hill, with a unique prize for their accomplishment at the finish line. All runners running the half or full marathon participate in this challenge! After Half runners reach the top, they head back to the finish line. After full marathon runners reach the top, they continue the course to Snake Mouth Aid Station (their halfway turn around point).

The 5k course is a gorgeous out and bac course with gently rolling hills for the first and last mile. Challenge yourself at the 1 mile mark, with a great half mile climb on a beautiful forest dirt road. Have a blast at our turn around aid station, before heading downhill for half a mile and finishing the last mile of your run on that nice, stretch to the finish line!

All distances are dog friendly so...bring your dog, bring a friend, run with family, just get out and run!

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit veteran's in Northern California.

All runners registered by midnight on 9/15/20 are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt, medallion and unlimited high fives!
