Tale of 2 Cities Relay

This is a 50 mile relay where 25 teams will cover a 5 mile loop through 2 cities.
Each will runner complete the 5-mile loop then pass the “torch” onto the next team mate. Who will run their loop and pass on the “torch” until 50 miles are completed.
A few simple instructions must be adhered to in order to prevent disqualification. IF a runner is completing multiple loops they must pass the "torch" to a new runner and wait for the "torch" to come back before starting a new loop. NO back to back loops! All runners must stay on the sidewalk or the grass right next to sidewalk, any running on the road will result in a DQ for the runner and the team.

Purpose

The purpose of this event is to raise monies to help Willoughby Baseball improve all fields to lessen rainouts, starting with the special needs field. Our IAP (individual assistance program) allows children of all abilities to play we have awesome kids playing with their motorized wheel chairs, walkers, etc. Our goal is first provide them with an improved surface (turf) then continue the improvements until all fields are converted so every child can benefit.
All Proceeds will be given to Willoughby Baseball for field improvements.

Aim

Encourage more participants in Willoughby Baseball IAP and Recreation Leagues as well as the Travel Teams. As runners we know how important and fun exercise can be. We aim to increase the joy in young children through young adults through play.

Registration Options

We will have teams with 2-10 people.
You can choose to register individually for your team or opt for a fundraising option. The fundraising option has $1000 minimum with the team raising the most money receiving a special prize. Please see our website for rules on bib transfers.
