About

The Trillium Bloom Trails Runs is now on June 20,2020, and no longer on May 9, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  This race is a great way to enjoy Portland's iconic Forest Park and food, music, and drink from the scenic Skyline Tavern.  The 10k and Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Upper Springville trailhead a half-mile from Skyline Tavern. The trails in Forest Park just as the trillium blooms are no longer at its peak, but the new date is the summer solstice and the day before Father's Day.

The Trillium Blooms is also a great way for new trail runners to experience running in the Tualatin Hills and also challenging enough for skilled trail runners. Please Note:  The course will no longer start at Waterline Trail due to trail erosion.  The race now starts at Springville Road.  We will have shuttles to and from the start/finish.

COVID-19 Refund Policy

As of March 18, everyone that has signed up for the race is from the Portland area, which offers us later flexibility of cancellation, since no one is traveling to the race. We have changed the cap of runners to 40 for now. That way if groups of 50 are allowed on race day, we can continue the race and have a private party at Skyline Tavern to savor the backyard porch for extensive views of the Tualatin Valley and coastal mountains or come inside to enjoy local music.  Finishers will get a beverage and brats or Walnut Burgers from the grill.

We have rescheduled for June 20, 2020, due to COVID-19. If this option doesn't work for you, we will offer a 50% refund policy, which is standard for trail races or transfer the entry to the Oxbow Trail Race. Thank you for understanding.

10k Course

Start below the gate on Springville Rd. After a quarter-mile, runners will turn right on Wildwood for 1.5 miles.  Following the run on Wildwood, turn left for a short, rooty descent down Ridge Trail to Leif Erikson.  Head north (right) on Leif Erikson for 1.75 miles to Fire Lane 5 for a quick, rocky climb up to Wildwood and the only aid station for the 10k.  Turn right on Wildwood and stay on Wildwood for 1.75 miles for a tough ascent (250 feet in 1/3 mile) up Trillium Trail and Fire Lane 7 until the finish.  Total climbing is 974 feet for 6.2 miles. https://caltopo.com/m/HJV3

Half Marathon Course

The Half Marathon starts the same as the 10k to Fire Lane 5, except half runners will continue on Leif Erikson to turn left on Maple Trail.  The 3.4 mile Maple Trail is one of the hidden gems of Forest Park.  Follow the trail to the first aid station where Maple crosses Saltzman Rd.  Continue on Maple past Fire Lane 4 and over the new bridge, beyond Koenig Trail, through Leif Erikson, the tie trail, and to the end where Maple meets Wildwood Trail.  Turn Right on Wildwood for 1.25 miles and head down Koenig Trail for a quick descent to Leif Erikson.  Turn Left on Leif Erikson for three-quarters of a mile where on a sunny day there will be views of Mt. St. Helens through the trees around Fire Lane 4.  Head up the short but tough climb of Cleator Trail.  Turn right on Wildwood for a flat mile until the second aid station at Fire Lane 5.  Half Marathoners will join the 10k runners back up Trillium Trail and Fire Lane 7 to the finish.  The Half Marathon course has 1726 feet of ascent. https://caltopo.com/m/HJV3
