Loch Ness 10K and Half Marathon
From the same directors of Eagle Ridge, Grand Viduta Stage Race, Wade Mountain & Wild Thangs Trail Series, River Monster Trail Run, Cathedral Caverns Trail Run, Lost Falls, we are excited to host our first race at Lake Lurleen State Park! Lake Lurleen State Park is a magnificent 1,600+ acre park with over 25 miles of single track trails! Lake Lurleen State Park is one of the most beautiful state parks in the entire southeast. Beautiful lake views, silky smooth single track, you're going to have a blast as we chase Nessie the Loch Ness monster!

Registration
The race is capped at 400 runners.
All runners who sign up for the Loch Ness Trail Fest 10K and Half Marathon will receive a t-shirt, and finisher medal as well as a hot meal post race!
Packet Pickup
Packets may be picked up the morning of the race from 6:30am - 7:45am but we encourage you to get there as early as possible!
Shirts, Awards, Weather & Cuttofs
The race shirt will be a short sleeve tri-blend shirt.
Age groups will be: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ for ALL races.
In the event of severe weather we will delay the start as necessary to avoid lightening. If severe weather threatens the entire day and does not appear to let up, we may be forced to cancel.
Average Temperatures on race day: High 59F, Low 38F
There will be very loose cutoffs in the 10K and 1/2 Marathon. Our goal is to get more and more people into this awesome sport that is trail running, no matter what your experience level is. However, we would suggest that if you are not able to maintain 14 minute miles for 50K, that you please consider doing the 10K or 1/2 Marathon.
There are no refunds, deferrals, credits or friend / family transfers on entries. We do not mail shirts or medals to participants unable to make the event as left over shirts are donated.

Aid Stations
Aid stations will have individual water bottles. Please drink or empty the entire bottle before throwing it away. Please do not take the water bottle or trash down the trail with you. Your mom will not be there to pick up after you and we want to be respectful to the race event staff, volunteers, park etc. We will also have a hodge podge of individually wrapped snacks (pretzels, cakes, crackers, candy etc).

10K: 2.2, 3.6mi
Half Marathon: 2.2mi, 7.3mi, 9.2mi
Lodging
If you plan on bringing an RV or primitive camping, the best place to stay in the area is at Lake Lurleen State Park. Be sure to mention that you are traveling to the area to run the LOCH NESS TRAIL FEST! If you aren't camping there are hundreds of Airbnb's & Hotels in Tuscaloosa which is a short 10-15min drive away.
