Kids Only -- Registration for kids ages 12 and under is now open. Registration is free but you MUST register in advance to participate and all kids must have a signed waiver by a parent or guardian. If you'd like a paper form instead of signing up online, please email us at revibegear@gmail.com. Registration ends on August 10th or if we reach the 300 runner cut-off.
Parent Information
** Course will be about 3 miles long. A few small hills but enough for the kids to challenge themselves. There may be some stream crossings and muddy sections, depending on amount of rain this summer. Worst case, wet/muddy feet, but nothing dangerous.
** The course will have volunteers along the way. Most likely within eye sight of one another. The course will be flagged as well. There will be one aid station at the halfway point. No runners will be out there alone at any point.
** Parents/Guardians are allowed to run with their kids if needed but should not sign themselves up for the event. If for some reason the parent can't run but still wants someone to be with their child, we may be able to offer a "pacer" to run with them.
** We will have a lunch for the kids after the race along with other activities. Most likely hot dogs, pizza, and drinks. If you'd like to bring a dessert to share, please bring it to the event in a disposable serving dish/plate/pan.
** Along with getting kids out onto the trails and exposing them to the sport of trail running, we also want to reach kids who may be in need. If you feel that your family could use help in obtaining some crucial running supplies for your child, please let us know. We're working with sponsors to achieve this goal. We'll also have a page set up for people to sponsor a child in need. Stay tuned for more information.
** The waiver for the race states that we may use any pictures or video of the participants for promotional uses. If for some reason your child should not be photographed, please let us know and we'll do our best to keep them out of photos.
** Lastly, this race is free of charge for all kids 12 and under. We have swag available for purchase here on our registration page - all purchases help offset the event costs. If you'd like to volunteer or donate some items for the event, please contact us at revibegear@gmail.com. We really want to make this an unforgettable day for the kids.
Description
The Smallfoot Trail Fest was created to inspire kids 12 and under to get outdoors, try the sport of trail running, and boost their confidence in outdoor exploration. ReVibe Gear and the PA Trail Dogs have teamed up to offer this event free of charge for participants. We are working on providing some other kids' activities along with the trail run, so stay tuned.
Parents/Guardians are welcome to "pace" younger children but should not register themselves for the event. Results will only be recorded for the kids.
Rocksylvania Kids Series
The Smallfoot Trail Fest is part of our 3 race Rocksylvania Kids Trail Series along with the Little Loggers Trail Fest in June and the Kanyon Kids Trail Race in August. Participants MUST be pre-registered for all 3 events in the series AND complete all 3 to earn a series prize. There's no separate registration for the series -- simply pre-register and complete all 3 races to earn a series finisher's award. Registration for all 3 of the series races is free and open to anyone age 12 and under.
