No defeat in the heat

Join us in celebrating National Recovery Month at Sufferfest-Run 4 Recovery, on Saturday, September 23rd in the Jennings State Forest on the Pioneer Trail in Middleburg,Florida. We will be offering 4 distances; 12K, 24k, 36K & 50k with each one will be run on an approximately 7.5 mile loop of the beautiful and challenging SECTION 4 and the Dunns Farm Loop of the Pioneer Trail. There will be 3 well stocked aid stations and easy access to your vehicle for the 24k/36k and 50k runners. This is also a cupless race so you will need to bring your own handheld water bottle or hydration vest and our aid station volunteers will fill it up for you.

We are also offering a VIRTUAL ONLY 5K distance as well. Run the 5k distance wherever you are and then tag us using #BecauseWeDoRecover . This will help bring awareness to our mission and cause.

Virtual 5K

If you are registered for the Sufferfest-Run 4 Recovery Virtual 5k distance, you will receive the same race shirt and the same medal that the in-person runners receive. Run the 5k where you are and then tag us using #BecauseWeDoRecover

Distances

If you've run a trail race before, you know that there's pretty much always an "ish" attached to the distance and that the "ish" will almost never be shorter than the stated distance. The Sufferfest - Run 4 Recovery is no different. Our distances will be 12k, 24k, 36k, and 50k. Time cut offs are 3 hrs for 12k/ 6 hrs for 24k/ 9 hrs for 36k/ 11 hrs for the 50k.

We are also offering a VIRTUAL ONLY 5k distance.

Covid Precautions

Unfortunately, we're still living in the COVID era, so we need to be safe to protect our runners and our volunteer staff. At each aid station we will have volunteers available to ensure that all hydration igloos will be sanitized adequately.

Guest Appearance

To help Runners 4 Recovery celebrate National Recovery Month (September), Florida ultramarathon runner and author of the book "Recovery Run" Richard Gallegos will speak before the start of the 50k race. He also will be available to sign his books before & after the race.

Aid Stations

There will be an aid station at the start/finish area, second aid station will be at the ~2.5 mile mark and you then at the " 4 way " which is at the 5 mile and 6.5 mile mark. This is a cupless race. All runners will need to bring their own bottles, hydration vest with bladder or collapsible cup to the event. We will have several aid stations stocked with water and electrolytes that our awesome volunteers will distribute to you

Awards & Swag

All runners will receive a Sufferfest-Run 4 Recovery custom medal. Medals and awards are made by the fabulous Brie Los at Wicked Skins. Awards are given to overall winners for each distance and the last place finisher in each distance will win an award (must finish prior to cutoff). We are working on gathering other great swag.
