NO'TO'MOM Endurance Runs

Join us for some beautiful 10k loops along the No’to’mom – also known as The American River, located in Sacramento, California, near Sacramento State University. This area was home to the Nisenan tribe for centuries prior to the arrival of Europeans. Please read about the Natives of this land and consider making a contribution to their organization.

One of the motivations to host these races is to increase the awareness of an ultra-marathon type that is less well participated in than the typical trail and mountain adventure. Rather it is a time trial “feel” for the ultra distance, and specifically a race type from which the USATF selects a team for to race on the world stage at the 50k and 100k World Championships. If you’ve seen either of the Hoka Carbon X world record attempts by Jim Walmsley in 2019 and 2021, and you’ve wondered what it feels like to push evenly for 50k or 100k, here is your chance!

How The Relays Work

100k Relay: 10 x 10k loops on the American River Parkway – 2-10 persons per team.

50k Relay: 5 x 10k loops on the American River Parkway – 2-5 persons per team.

100k Individual

This is a USATF sanctioned Road Race, and therefore record-setting approved. The course is a USATF certified 10k loop with a short dogleg, to be run clockwise 10 times. Current USATF members can run qualifying times for the 100k National Team. For men, that time is sub 7:20. For women, the qualifying time is sub 8:40. Open and age group records can be set, so be aware that rules regarding pacing will be strictly enforced.

50k Individual

50k Individual: This is a USATF sanctioned Road Race, and therefore record-setting approved. The course is a USATF certified 10k loop with a short dogleg, to be run clockwise 5 times. Current USATF members can run qualifying times for the 50k National Team. For men, that time is sub 3:00. For women, the qualifying time is sub 3:33. Open and age group records can be set, so be aware that rules regarding pacing will be strictly enforced.
