The Event
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Cooter Creek 50 Mile Trail Run!
This event is a VIRTUAL or SELF SUPPORTED footrace along two sections of the Palmetto Trail; The Awendaw Passage and the Swamp Fox Passage. At its longest, the course for this event is about 25ish miles of single track trail.
The event traverses through some of the best sections of the Francis Marion National Forest as well as along Awendaw Creek
The format for this event is an out and back trail run starting at Buck Hall Recreation Area in McClellanville to Irishtown Road and back to Buck Hall Recreation Area.
Once finished, upload your results to UltraSignup. Swag from the event as well as a finisher award will be mailed to you.
Best Spots to Set Up Your Aid Stations
The below locations are ideal to set up your own Aid Stations ahead of time if you so desire.
Aid Station: Irishtown Road Crossing, roughly mile 26.75
Water Stop: Dog Swamp Road Crossing, roughly mile 20
Aid Station: Halfway Creek Road Crossing, roughly mile 14.5
Water Stop: Willow Hall Road Crossing, roughly mile 9
Aid Station: Whilden Road Crossing, roughly mile 6
A link to the Strava web page will be sent to you. It is up to you to figure out how to download this data to your phone or GPS enabled watch. You can use this data to ensure that you are on course and on the trail should you become disoriented or lost.
Event Fees and Restroom Facilities
Event Fee: $30 for the 50 mile trail run and $120 for the 4 person relay

Restrooms:
If open, all participants will have access to restroom/shower facilities at Buck Hall Recreation Area.
Time Frame, Awards and Stuff
• 50 Miles (15 Hours to Complete): You have 1 week to complete this self-supported or virtual trail race. The event is available from April 22, 2023 until April 29, 2023 to complete the event.
Awards:
The top 3 runners, male and female will receive event awards in addition to the Finisher Award.
ALL participants that COMPLETE the distance in the allotted time frame will be awarded with the Finisher Award.
Refund Policy/Cancellation Policy
Under no circumstance will refunds be issued or registrations be transferred to another person.
Please see below concerning deferring the event to the following year.
This event could be cancelled due to Government Shutdown, any and all types of extreme weather conditions or natural disaster. If possible, the event will be scheduled for a later date, as soon as possible. If this is not possible, participants will have the option of deferring their entry to the following year.
