Misfit Mountain Athletics Spring Training Camp

4599 US-64

Ducktown, TN Spring Training Camp

This Event Took Place Fri. Mar 15, 2024

Welcome

Misfit Mountain Athletics is excited to offer our inaugural Spring Training Camp!

Enjoy a weekend of guided trail running, education and group activities in the Cherokee National Forest along the world-famous Ocoee River. This is a laid-back, rustic, inclusive "mini retreat" where you can build community, learn new things and push through comfort zones.

What is a trail running camp?

Think of a group camp, but for adults who run trails! Enjoy two days of guided trail runs (all levels welcome,) group education on topics such as nutrition, trail safety, training and injury prevention and group activities like yoga. This is an informal, low-key running retreat for those looking to build community and learn from an experienced running coach.

Distances will range from 6-15 miles depending on group goals. We will split into two different guided groups if needed for the day. These will be no-drop runs! Newer runners are welcome, but ideally each runner should have some trail running experience before attending. If you are unsure if this camp would be a good fit for you, please send us an email! We want everyone to feel safe, comfortable and welcome. Please note this is a co-ed camp.

What's included in the price?

What's included: group lodging (two rooms with bunks, a small kitchen and bathrooms) transportation to and from trails, breakfast and snacks, two days of guided runs (with options for shorter or longer distances,) group learning time and yoga.

Optional Activities

There are inexpensive options nearby for dining out in the evening together as a group, extra activities like white water rafting and canopy zip line tours are options as well (come early on Friday or substitute one day of running for alternative activities.)

Q & A

Can I book a private room?

We will be utilizing a small group lodge. You will be sharing a room with other runners--one room of bunks for the ladies and one room of bunks for the guys. Restrooms (including showers) are on-site as well.

Do I need to be a fast runner with lots of experience?

Nope! We will make sure to provide opportunities for all levels. Please email us if you have any concerns.

What group activities will be offered?

Group activities are optional, but we hope you will join in. There will be one class of yoga included at the lodge, group learning time on topics such as injury prevention, strength training and nutrition, as well as options to dine out together in the evenings.

Do I need to bring my own food?

We will provide coffee, tea and breakfast items each morning. Trail fuel/snacks will be provided as well since we'll be on trail during lunch time hours. In the evenings, you will have the option of dining out with the group (or feel free to bring your own supplies to use in the kitchen.)
