About Del Rio PTSD Awareness

Established in June 2023, Del Rio PTSD Awareness is a local nonprofit with a mission of breaking the stigma of post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD.) Survivors of trauma often times go unnoticed and untreated and can develop multiple mental, emotional, and physical health conditions if left untreated. PTSD is most often associated with military and veterans of war, however, survivors of sexual assault, environmental disaster, post partum, and other trauma related events can live with PTSD and not know.

One method of healing is exercise which is why Del Rio PTSD Awareness is proud to host a variety of running events, including the Del Rio Marathon.

Registration - In Person

Online registration is CLOSED but you can still register IN PERSON today at Packet Pick Up - M&L Auto - 501 W Losoya St. from 6pm - 8pm OR in person Saturday before the run. Registration WILL CLOSE 15 minutes before the scheduled run times.

Event Day - Information

The Del Rio Marathon is scheduled for Oct 12, 2024. Check in begins at 6:45am for the marathon and half marathons, while the 10k and 5k check in begins shortly after 7:30am. The course begins at the south lawn of the Val Verde County Courthouse and runs along many historical sites along Main Street, South Del Rio, the Winery, Barrio San Felipe, and San Felipe Creek. The course is moderately challenging within an urban, rural, and trail setting.

Packet Pick Up

Registered runners can pick up their running packets for all races at M&L Auto, a proud sponsor, located at 501 W. Gibbs Street, Del Rio, TX 78840. Hours of pick up are: Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 6pm - 8pm, and Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6pm - 8pm. The packet will include the runner’s TShirt, bib, and other information about the race.
