Welcome runners to the 1st Annual Long Point Schoolhouse 5k at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens!

About the event:

This event is a fundraiser for THE AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORIC COMMUNITY COMMISSION.

About The African American Historic Community Commission:

OUR MISSION: To achieve our organizational purpose the AAHCC efforts will include the following:·Protect and preserve the existing characteristics of African American Settlement Communities and enhance the quality of life for current and future generations of residents of the African American Settlement Communities. Nurture and support a strong sense of community, identity, history, and economic development both within the African American Settlement Communities and the larger region, including the Gullah Geechee Corridor. Support the traditions of land ownership, which have connected families with their land for many generations, and provide the various resources that will allow harmonious growth, including land use regulations that are consistent and compatible with the existing characteristics of the individual African American Settlement Communities.

Packet Pickup: 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Willies Roadside Market 2434 North Highway 17, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 and morning of the event from 7:00 AM until 7:30 AM.

Restrooms will be made available near the Start/Finish line.

Cancellation Policy: This event will happen rain or shine.

No refunds will be issued and no registrations will be transferred.

Shirts guaranteed to those that register by August 15, 2024.

Parking for the event will be off Highway 17 using the same parking area that is used for other events such as the Strawberry Festival, Fright Nights, etc.

Proceeds

100% of the proceeds from this event go directly to the Long Point Schoolhouse.
