We are switching this event to an even bigger and better event called the "Pineywood Ruck Relay" which is on the same day and city. The Pineywood Ruck Relay is a team based event where people will ruck 27 miles as a team from the courthouse of Upshur County to the courthouse of Gregg County. Event Overview

The BIG BAD RUCK is a 3 hour, 6 hour, 12 hour, and 24 hour RUCK challenge that takes place in the piney woods of Northeast Texas. The challenge takes place on hilly single track dirt trails following a 2 mile loop on a private ranch.

Course Overview

- Course: All private ranch trails, creek crossings
- Elevation: 130ft per 2 mile loop
- Location: Pineywoods Valley Trails in Gilmer Texas (5293 State Hwy 300 Gilmer TX). Do not visit private property outside of event.
- Weather: Historic Average 52-78 derees
- No Cup Race: We don't serve cups, please make sure to bring your own water-carrying system!

Location and Times

3 HR, 6 HR, 12 HR, 24 HR will take place at the private ranch (5293 State Hwy 300 Gilmer TX). Do not visit private ranch outside of event.

Ruck Requirements

- A rucksack, weight vest, or weight carrier
- Water/Hydration. Hydration Bladder and/or a bottle recommended.
- Any medication you might need

Weight requirements
- If you weigh more than 150 lbs = 30 lb. Ruck
- If you weigh less than 150 lbs = 20 lb. Ruck

Camping Information

For those looking to extend their adventure, we are offering tent and car camping on-site at the property Friday and Saturday night.

Important Details:
- No water or electricity will be provided at the camping area, so please come prepared with all necessary supplies (e.g., water, lighting, etc.).
- The camping area is located near the event start/finish line, making it easy for participants to rest between challenges.
- Quiet hours will be observed overnight to ensure a peaceful environment for all campers 9PM-5AM
- Porta-potties will be available near the camping area.
- Camping area is not level.
