Kids Race
Welcome to Slay the Baby Dragon, a kids 2.5km out and back FUN event for children aged 0-12 years old. This race is designed to introduce children to the joys of trail running in a safe and exciting environment. The route is set on the scenic Cross Mountain Trail with some gentle ascents and descents. An expert marshal will be stationed at the turn around portion of the course to provide guidance and support.
The race is timed, but the emphasis is on participation and enjoyment rather than competition. Every child who completes the race receives a medallion, and a goodie bag. Slay the Baby Dragon 2.5km event takes place at the start/finish line like our big kids race and is open to children of all ability levels. It is a fantastic opportunity for kids to challenge themselves, have fun, and meet other young trail runners.

Vertical Climb
1.4 miles. 480 vertical meters. No trail. No mercy.
This is the Dragon King/Queen Vertical Climb—a gut-punch of a race that charges straight up the Comet Express. No switchbacks, no packed path—just raw mountain and relentless elevation.
You’ll be powering straight through the grass like a fierce dragon, clawing your way to the top with fire in your lungs and thunder in your legs. The mountain won’t give it to you. You’ll have to take it.

Grade: Brutal
Terrain: No packed path. Just open slope and raw climb.

Slay The Dragon
Slay the Dragon is a trail running event located at beautiful Silver Star Mountain Resort on June 20th, located a short drive up the mountain from the gorgeous lakes of Vernon, BC.
No matter if you choose the 13.6km, 25km, or 52km distance, you will run through technical and cruisey single track, crazy fun climbs with long thigh shredding descents. This course is designed for all levels of trail runners, by trail runners, so you can expect priority to be placed on a challenging, crazy fun, well flagged, fantastically aided course with the mightiest of volunteers!
