The Course Options!
The Great 30A Easter Race, presented by Dune Lakes Private Wealth Advisors, is an Easter weekend mainstay on 30A, is a fantastic event that actually offers three distinct---as well as distinctly beautiful---courses. Runners choose from the “Paved Path” 5K or 10K course, or the "Trail & Beach" 10K course. Siince 2022 the Great 30A Easter Race has taken place exclusively within the confines of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park.
The Paved Path 5K course consists of a fantastic out-and-back route run completely on a paved surface. The Paved Path 10K does the out-and-back twice. Both courses should be fast for those seeking a PR, but most definitely stroller-friendly for those wanting to enjoy the views.
If more distance and sand is what you seek, then the Trail & Beach 10K course is for you! On this loop course you see it all: majestic pines, beach, and dune lakes. Just a fantastic course! You can expect ~2 miles on paved roads, ~1.25 miles on sand, and ~3 miles on trails. And yes, by the end, your feet will likely be dirty! The Trail & Beach 10K starts at 8:00am. The Paved Path 10K starts at 8:05am. The Paved Path 5K starts at 8:10am.

Refund Policy
Refund Policy
As a runner, it’s inevitable that at some point you’ll register for a race and later find out you’re unable to make it to the start line. It happens to all of us. Race registrations open months in advance, and life happens in between — injuries, work, family emergencies, and unexpected situations.
We absolutely get it — truly. Many of us have signed up for races we couldn’t attend, and we know firsthand that it’s disappointing.
However, even if the race hasn’t occurred yet, we’ve already incurred significant expenses to make the event happen. We pay taxes on registration income, secure permits, purchase insurance, and order supplies such as signage, course markings, bibs, hats, medals, and other awards. For these reasons, we are unable to offer refunds.
Transfers
While we cannot issue refunds, we can offer you the option to transfer your registration to another runner. Registered participants may transfer their bib to another runner within the designated transfer period. It is the participant’s responsibility to complete the transfer process by the posted deadlines.
***When you sign up for this event, you acknowledge and accept that registration fees are non-refundable.
Safety Policy
For the safety of all participants, volunteers, and spectators, animals are not permitted to participate in races (this includes dogs, cats, kangaroos, llamas, etc). This policy is determined by our event insurance requirements and local permitting conditions and is not at the discretion of our staff on race day.
Strollers, wagons, and similar wheeled equipment are welcome but must start in the back of the pack to ensure the safety and flow of runners. Please be mindful of narrow trail sections, congestion points, and other participants.
If you are planning to participate with a certified running wheelchair or adaptive running device, please contact us prior to race day. We are happy to make reasonable accommodations and work with you to ensure a safe and inclusive experience.
We understand these guidelines may be disappointing for some, and we truly appreciate your cooperation. To avoid any confusion or last-minute issues, please review event rules in advance and reach out with any questions before race day. Our goal is always to provide a safe, enjoyable, and compliant event for everyone.
