Chefchaouen International Trail In Morocco

Run an unforgettable 3-stage trail adventure through the mountains surrounding Morocco’s famous Blue City. Over 82 km and 4,071 m of elevation gain, you’ll traverse cedar forests, deep gorges and high plateaus, finishing each day in the magical alleys of Chefchaouen.
The event is ITRA-certified and UTMB® Index registered, allowing runners to collect ITRA points and a valid UTMB Index for future UTMB® World Series races.

Race Format – 3 Stages / 82 km

Stage 1 – Chefchaouen to Akchour – 36 km (+2,057 m)
Start from the Blue City and climb into the Rif Mountains on ancient shepherd and mule trails. Technical singletrack, rocky canyons and panoramic ridgelines lead you down to the waterfalls and river pools of Akchour.

Stage 2 – Akchour to Talassemtane Plateau – 26 km (+1,584 m)
A wild day inside Talassemtane National Park. Runners traverse pine and cedar forests, remote Berber hamlets and steep mountain flanks to reach a high plateau bivouac under the stars.

Stage 3 – Talassemtane Plateau to Chefchaouen – 20 km (+430 m / –700 m)
A shorter but spectacular final stage rolling through Berber villages and balcony trails with continuous views of the Blue City. The race finishes back in Chefchaouen’s historic medina.
