Government Peak Endurance 100/50
Government Peak 100 / 50 Mile
Part of the Toughest Alive: Midnight Sun Endurance Festival
Welcome to one of Alaska’s most electric endurance experiences.
The Government Peak 100 & 50 Mile races aren’t just ultras — they’re the centerpiece distance events inside the Midnight Sun Endurance Festival, a multi-day gathering of athletes, families, crews, and competitors all pushing limits together under the endless Alaskan sky.
The Course
This is a looped trail format (approx. 3 miles per loop) set in the stunning terrain of Government Peak.
You’ll move through flowing singletrack, rolling climbs, and runnable sections — returning each loop to the heart of the action.
And that’s where this race separates itself.
The Hub (Central Aid Station)
Every loop brings you back to a high-energy, fully stocked central aid station — not some quiet table in the woods.
This is your basecamp:
Electrolytes (LMNT + Tailwind)
Real food, snacks, and fuel
Crew access every loop
Medical + support
Music, energy, and constant action
You are never far from help, fuel, or people.
Built for Crew, Pacers, and Family
This is one of the most crew-friendly ultras you’ll ever run.
Your crew sees you every loop
Easy, seamless pacing transitions
Family can stay engaged the entire race
No long drives or remote checkpoints
Instead of disappearing into the wilderness for hours…
you’re part of something alive the entire time.
The Festival Atmosphere
This race is embedded inside a full endurance festival environment:
Food trucks
Vendor village
Ice baths for recovery
(Sauna + recovery services pending final confirmations)
Multiple events happening around you
Athletes competing across disciplines
There’s always movement. Always noise. Always something happening.
You’ll be grinding through miles while:
someone is finishing their first event
someone else is starting theirs
and the entire venue is alive with energy
Why This Race Hits Different
Most ultras are quiet, isolated, and mentally draining.
This one is the opposite.
Constant energy
Constant support
Constant opportunity to reset and go again
It becomes less about surviving alone…
and more about performing inside an environment that won’t let you quit.
Distances
50 Mile
100 Mile
Both races follow the same looped format — the difference is how long you’re willing to stay in the fight.
The Challenge
Simple in concept. Brutal in execution.
Run the loops.
Manage your effort.
Fuel properly.
Stay in it.
And when it starts to hurt —
you’ll come back through the center of it all…
and decide to go back out again.
This is more than a race.
It’s a proving ground inside a festival of effort.
