The Sandstone Sixer

THE SANDSTONE SIXER
Saturday, November 7, 2026
Sandstone Ranch Open Space, Larkspur, Colorado

SIX HOURS. EIGHT MILE LOOPS. SEE WHAT YOU'VE GOT.

The clock runs for six hours. The loop is 8 miles with 765 feet of climbing through Sandstone Ranch. You run as many as you want, and whatever you cover is yours.

Come to race it and there will be people to race. Come to get a long run in and you will have company for most of it and an aid station every four miles instead of hauling everything on your back. That is the thing about a timed loop. It is the most supported long run you will ever get and a real race at the same time, and you decide which one you are doing. You can change your mind at mile 16.

If you have been circling a 50K, this is the friendliest place on the calendar to get one. Four loops is 32 miles, which clears 50K with room to spare, and you are never more than four miles from aid the whole way there.

WHAT YOU EARN

Everyone who registers gets a sweet custom hat and raffle tickets.

4 loops, 32 miles: 50K finisher medal
5 loops, 40 miles: 40 mile medal plus 10 more raffle tickets
6 loops, 48 miles: nobody is expected to do this. If you do, we will make it worth your while.

THE COURSE

An 8 mile loop, 765 feet of gain, sitting between 6,533 and 6,843 feet. Rolling, runnable, and honest. No death climbs, no technical nonsense, just good dirt that lets you run.

The loop passes back through the start and finish at mile 3.45, so you hit aid roughly every four miles and you are never far from your stuff, a chair, or a friendly face. Half a loop is also a real timed checkpoint, so nothing here runs on what your watch says.

Sandstone Ranch is 2,038 acres of Douglas County open space running right up against Pike National Forest. It is quiet out there in November, and that is the point.
