It's Turkey Time!

Time to take your Turkey Trot virtual and to the trails to raise money for the Thurston County Food Bank! Choose your distance(s) and complete your "Less Turkey, More Trot" on one of our courses starting and finishing at the Mima Falls Trailhead in Capitol Forest sometime between Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 29, 2026.

Race Description

Choose your distance (9 km, 21 km, 33 km, or all 3). Complete your chosen distance between November 21 and November 29, 2026. All routes start and end at the Mima Falls Trailhead and must be one of the three routes provided. This is a location change for 2026 because Margaret McKenny Trailhead is closed.

No proof of run/hike is required, however, we do encourage you to email us photos for a chance to win a prize! You'll need to record your "total elapsed time" on UltraSignUp when you complete your run.

Awards will be given to:
• The best race photos (Be creative)
• Youngest runners
• Random raffles
• And more!

Registration

Registration cost is $20 for adults and $10 for youth. Proceeds will be donated to the Thurston County Food Bank. We've raised over $20,000 for the food bank since we started this event in 2020. You all are awesome!

Special Raffle

We're raffling off amazing goodies and all of the money will go to the food bank! Purchase $10 raffle tickets at check out or donate directly to the food bank and let us know (saves you on the Ultrasign tax). We're in the process of soliciting donations!
Raffle includes:

  1. Ready to Run with shoes and running swag;
  2. Go Big Around Town with treats from 8 Arms Bakery and more to come;
  3. Run & Recover with a PT evaluation at the amazing Tahoma Physical Therapy and other surprises.

Parking and Discover Pass

Be sure to have your Discover Pass visible in your vehicle. More information about Discover Passes at www.discoverpass.wa.gov.

When parking, keep to the areas designated for cars. If the top lot is full, you may park in the lower lot when you first enter. Please do not park in the horse-trailer parking area! This is essential for making DNR and other trail users happy.

Course

There are three distances: 9 km (5.5 miles), 21 km (13 miles), 33 km (20 miles) and all start from the Mima Falls Trailhead in Capitol Forest. ** We mark the course, however, we recommend if you are unfamiliar with the area to take the map with you. **
