Old School 50 Mile Ultra and 25K Mini with Bargain Entry Fees!
Sign up before April 12th! Price increases for the 25K to $35 and 50 Miler to $65. This year there will be a 50 mile ultra and a 25 km (~16 mile) trail race. 2024 will mark the 17th year of the Capitol Peak races in Capitol Forest.
The 50-mile will start at 6 AM, and the 25 km will start at 9 AM. NO EARLY (OR LATER) START. All 50-milers must start at 6 AM, and all 25k-ers must start at 9 AM. The cut-off time for both distances will be at 8:00 PM, which gives runners a full 14 hours to finish the 50-mile. If a runner has not left an aid station by its designated cut-off time, they'll be asked to drop out of the race and return towards the start/finish at the Fall Creek Day Use Area, for their safety, the safety of our volunteers, and to keep the race on schedule for our permits and plans. Specific aid-station cut-offs will be sent out to all registered runners via the pre-race email. PLEASE NOTE: There will not be an option to drop down from the 50 miler to the 25 km once the race has started. Both the 50-mile & 25-km feature great views from Capitol Peak and are run on sweet and tough singletrack!
Race Description:
Every runner will need to print, sign, and bring a DNR waiver with them to check-in on race-day.
The race is held in the State Forest so every vehicle will need a Discovery Pass: discoverpass.wa.gov. To avoid getting a ticket your DISCOVER PASS must be visible on your windshield.
“Capitol Forest is a "working forest", so course revisions are possible to accommodate the "work". For updates please check at Capitol Peak 50mile/25K website!. COURSE DESCRIPTION: Both the 50-mile and 25K start and finish from Falls Creek Trailhead. The race will feature some of the most rugged and serene single track trails and grinding sections of gravel road, and, depending on toss-of-the-coin for weather in April, spectacular views. Both the 50 mile and 25K, will complete the course on a 7-mile, serene, descent from the Wedekind aid station to the finish at Falls Creek Trailhead. Download very accurate course maps from our website.
Post Race Food
Included in your registration is post race food. Vic's Pizza will have their oven cooking up pizza!
