Race Description

Will you be crowned King or Queen of the Hill?

Join us Mountainside Park in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey for one of the most challenging races in New Jersey. You have two choices, to register for a 3 hour or 6 hour time. You will try and complete a 5k loop as many times as you can and each loop has 800ft of elevation gain. Expect challenging terrain, 20-40% sustained climbs, and a beautiful view of New York City.

If you do not think you can complete the 5k loop with the remaining time that you have, the number of laps and time will be recorded. You will place better than someone who also has the same amount of loops based on the amount of time you had leftover. If two people finish with 10 loops completed but one had 20 minutes left and the other had 10, then the person with 20 minutes will place higher.

Race Support

During the race, there will be a grass area where you can drop any of your personal supplies. We will have water and snacks available, but will not have any cups. Please bring your own cup.

Who is MissionCleanWater?

MissionCleanWater is a 501c3 nonprofit organization working to bring clean drinking water and sanitation to underserved communities both domestically and internationally.
We focus on the fact that 60% of all clean water projects in Africa have failed and that our communities in our NJ backyard are without clean water. We work every day on the ground with communities to develop a solution together. Through community relationship building, training, and long-term involvement, we want to fully maximize the investment in clean water and bring out its full potential.

Our team has been involved with the trail running community both as a hobby and professionally. We want to develop new race experiences that challenge runners to be more engaged, think on their feet, and work together. From these races, registration will act as a donation going towards our clean water efforts.

Race Breakdown

Starting location is at Mountainside Park in Pompton Lakes, 40.971023, -74.325620.
The race start time is at 8:30. Please arrive 30 minutes beforehand to check-in. There is limited parking at the trailhead and we want to keep that area clear for anyone that is not part of the race, but there are plenty of spaces right next to the race start location on the road.
